Mornington Peninsula + Red Hill Brewery ’Bleak Piracy’ Black Rye IPA | |||||||||||||
RATINGS: 3 MEAN: 3.87/5.0 WEIGHTED AVG: 3.12 SEASONAL: Special EST. CALORIES: 183 ABV: 6.1%
COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION Our brewers from both sides of the bays teamed up to create a special brew solely for Beers by the Bay festival. A Black Rye IPA named “Bleak Piracy”, an anagram of Black Rye IPA and a fitting reference to the seaside theme of the festival and the location of the two breweries. The unique Black Rye IPA uses both rye malt and dark wheat malt. The Rye malt creates a touch of smokiness to the brew, whilst the wheat malt imparts the dark colour. The hops are Waimea, which is an NZ variety that has not been used commercially in Australia, the brew was dry hopped with a further treasure trove of hops giving a strong hop character.
