Commercial Description:
Bottle Conditioned;
Brewed by the Freeminer Brewery in the Forest of Dean, this hand crafted bottle conditioned ale has been created using British malted barley and top quality hops. The six varieties of barley used have been hand malted in the oldest working independent floor maltings in the UK and the choice graded First Gold, Fuggle and Golding hops come from the traditional growing area of the three counties.

500ml bottle from Morrisons, Folkestone. I managed to get the last bottle on the shelf. Chestnutin colour with thin beige head. Good choc malts with some orange fruit on the aroma. Really nice malts. Slightly herby. Good earthy supermarket beer. Wonderful malts throughout and then drying spicy hop with good toffee. I agree with the others, this is a good ESB

A Mes rate: Bottle from... guess where? Slightly soapy but pleasant enough nose with hints of sugar, butterscotch and berries. Solid brown body, shame about the head but still manages to leave behind a reasonable amount of lace. Flavour echoes the nose but unfortunately the soap comes back with a vengeance. The only redeeming factor is the unexpected bitter hop finish eventually leading to lingering elderflower notes.

Bottle conditioned, 500ml from Morrisons, Banbury. Copper colour with white head. Big fruity aroma leading to a rich fruity body, redcurrants and cherry come to mind. There is a graininess to the malt, I would think that there is a very pale malt in with the darker roasted chocolate malt. Not much on the hop side though, there is a winey note in the finish with an off putting acidity. Reasonable for a UK BCA though.

Bottled. A dark mahogany coloured beer with a minimal whitish head. The aroma is excellent fruity English hops. A touch of marmalade and sugary goodness to boot. The taste is warming and hoppy. Biscuity malt as well. Lovely fruits. An excellent well balanced sturdy English beer. (7,3,8,3,16) (3.7)

Drank a second time. Aroma nicer and hoppier although taste a little sour and showing slight signs of infection. Still a good product (8,3,7,3,14) (3.5)

Average score given.

Bottle from, guess.... Aroma is rich malts, biscuity, nutty and toffee character. Taste is similar, quite nutty and almost completly dominated by malt, tasty stuff.
