Just discovered Geueze beers. This was from a cork topped bottle. Pours apple juice bronze, little ring of persistent lace around the outside. Appetizing subtle smell, fresh squashed apple, slight vinegar. Tastes of fresh apple juice mixed with acidic Cava wine, very refreshing, fizzes on the tongue, then quickly goes to leave a clean tongue ready for a new flavour . Great as an appetiser before a meal, or with tomato pasta.

On tap at A la Mort Subite, Bruxelles. Hazy orange golden, tiny white head. Aroma is lemon, cellar, yeast. Taste is a bit more sweet and acidic and less funky than most of the other gueuzes I tried, nice but lacking something. Anyway it’s still a pleasant drink and the place is beautiful.

Bottle@home. Small head. Golden clear. Earthy fruity. Sweet tart. Light. A bit boring. To sweet for a geuze.

Bottle sample. Thanks zvsn. Slightly hazy golden with small off-white head. Very fruity aroma with notes of apple and apricot, funky with notes of white wine. Sweetish flavor, a bit sugary, very fruity with notes of apple, apricot and some wood, light sourness in the finish, dry. Lively carbonation, light to medium-bodied. Quite easy to drink.

Aroma: Zero intensiveness, some funk, apples, wine. Appearance: Color is amber, head is high, quickly falls down, creates some lacing. Taste: not very sour, sweet, some funk, strange taste of fermented pears or something similar. Palate: Finish is sweet, carbonation is low, body is thin. The weakest geuze I have ever drank.
