COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Kriek Mort Subite is brewed according to the ancestral lambic recipe. This original Belgian beer ferments spontaneously. Enriched with cherries, it matures soft and slowly in oaken casks. To be served cool.

Pours a nice rose red beer with a not very long lasting head. Cherry, little cheese and sour smell. Sweet taste. Mediu sweet and little sour. lots of cherries. I like the palate. Nice carbo. Off course watery.

This beer pours a clear amber/red colour, with a light pink head. The aroma is of bubblegum, cherry pie, yeast. The taste is tart, definite cherry notes, sweet/sour finish. Not bad, taste more like a cherry cooler than a lambic though.

Aroma: Fruit jam? Candy syrup? Not what I was expecting....

Appearance: Transparent cherry red, head is pink and doesn’t remain long.

Taste: Cranberry gummy juice. Wheat and straw, slight funk...just weird.

Palate: Cloying, not what I’d expected...very thick and syrupy. Artificial. Does not finish like a lambic should.

Overall: This is not very good at all. Fake compared to much better offerings...might as well mix old beer with cranberry juice and strawberry jam because that’s what it tastes like.

Smells like cranberry gummies. A pretty translucent dark pink color. Candy-oriented for a kriek in flavor, and leaning towards cranberry juice. Overall, sweet, but not cloying - an appreciable combination. Cheers to sudden death!

Aroma: Obviously a lot of cherry with notes of crystallized fruits and jelly bean. Also found some ether notes. Smells like a fruit salad. Appearance: Clear red with a thick rocky head lasting a long moment. Marvelous head sticking a lot to glass, leaving a wonderful lacing. Taste: Attack is all fruit, cherry, with a strong acidity somehow mitigated by the presence of the fruits. We can also find some light malt accents like brown sugar and caramel. Absence of bitterness. It’s like a very fruity cider. Very refreshing though, but you have to like the extreme acidity of lambics. For myself, this is the very first one I was able to drink all the bottle.

UPDATED: APR 13, 2013 Don?t let the somewhat off smell deter you. This tastes amazing. Reminds me a lot of Duchesse de Bourgonne.
