COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Kriek Mort Subite is brewed according to the ancestral lambic recipe. This original Belgian beer ferments spontaneously. Enriched with cherries, it matures soft and slowly in oaken casks. To be served cool.

375mL bottle, pours a pinkish red with a beige head. Aroma of sour cherries and citrus. Flavour of artificial sour cherries, apple and citrus - sour finish. Decent.

Bottle at home. Clear pinkish red color with a thin white head. Aroma is of artificial cherries, citrus and sugar. Flavor is quite sour with apple, citrus and a bit of cherries, somewhat artificial but mainly just plain sour. Lingering sour finish. Quite lively carbonation and a sharp stingy mouthfeel.

Draft. Pours hazy brownish red, topped with a small off-white head. Aroma of cherry, sweeter than most krieks, with some earthy notes and oak in the background. Flavor is also sweet, with cherries, bread, and wood. Cherry flavor seems a bit medicinal.

UPDATED: OCT 23, 2010 Bottled 375ml. Vintage 2006. Ordered from bierkompass.de. Surprisingly nutty for a kriek and reminiscent of marzipan throughout. Sweet. The cherry components are dissapointing. Not a good example of the style. Rerate (fresh example): Amber-red appearance. Sticky spotty lace. Metallic aroma which is reminiscent of sardines. Overly sweet. Artificial. Very low acidity. A very poor example of the style. Score of the second sampling: 5/2/5/3/11 = 2.6

Poured bright red with large, pinkish head. The taste of cherry was not as intense as the raspberry flavour but still quite lovely. Not too sweet with almost a tangy cherry taste. Thin body with lively carbonation. Very quaffable, very refreshing, overall a great fruit beer.

Bright ruby red color with small white head. Aroma of sweet cherry, and sweet wine. Taste is kind of sour and sweet. Overall kind of sweet for a beer

Bottle. Cherry aroma. Moderate carbonation. Leaves taste of dark cherries. Rapidly loses head.

Bottle 25 cl from La Maladière Center in Neuchâtel (CH). Pink-red color supported, pale pink foam. Aromas of raspberry, slightly tart, a little candy flavor artificial, woody nuance and lambic. We taste with relish this kriek subtle, well-balanced, fresh, with touches of vanilla, roundness, but rather short.
