Mar 14, 2008 Bottle from Belgium shared with Drewbeerme. Amber with red tint with large white head. Aroma is yeast, sweet cherry (almost soda/coolaid like) and grainy. Flavor is sweet cheery once again and kind of fake tasting. Medium body and well carbonated. This might have been good originally but now is a very poor example of the style.

Mar 6, 2008 bottle. thanks to xnoxhatex for the sample. Pours an odd amber-copper color with off white head. Nose is interesting yeast, old, musty, some odd artifical cherry aroma. Flavor is much of the same, flavor is sweet but not overly so, cherry notes are faint and fake tasting, a pretty bad mess of flavors with nothing dominating. Blah. 2.8.

Jan 10, 2008 25 cl Bottle. Colour is red/pink and has a very nice white head. Aroma is pure sweetness with cherrish dominating. In the tate is sweet cherrish and sourness. A very good sample of the Kriek.

Medium body.
Taste is very sweet, cherry, little sourness.
Like the Oude kriek more,

Nov 16, 2007 Bottle. Very sweet smell of cherrys. Red clear body, large pink coloured foamy head, mostly lasting. Very acetic start, light bitter finish, short duration. Light body, dry texture, lively carbonation. Moderate astringent finish.
Not bad, but there are better ones.

Oct 22, 2007 Updated: Oct 30, 2007Medium red-orange hue, crystal clear, with a short, foamy, light white-pink head. Big, sugary cherry aroma; something like overly sweetened cherry pie, I suppose. Tannic, oaky elements lie very far underneath. Slight breadiness as well. Simple, nothing a foul. Sweet cherry flavour throughout, very little tartness. Grainy, watery at the finish. Aftertaste of cherries sticks to the front of my mouth. Medium bodied, sticky texture, moderate carbonation. Extremely simple, but not really flawed in any manner. Enjoyable for what it is, I suppose, about average on the whole. 37.5cl bottle, Leffe goblet, bbe 04/09.
