The Kriek Mort Subite is brewed according to the ancestral lambic recipe. This original Belgian beer ferments spontaneously. Enriched with cherries, it matures soft and slowly in oaken casks. To be served cool.

Medium red-orange hue, crystal clear, with a short, foamy, light white-pink head. Big, sugary cherry aroma; something like overly sweetened cherry pie, I suppose. Tannic, oaky elements lie very far underneath. Slight breadiness as well. Simple, nothing a foul. Sweet cherry flavour throughout, very little tartness. Grainy, watery at the finish. Aftertaste of cherries sticks to the front of my mouth. Medium bodied, sticky texture, moderate carbonation. Extremely simple, but not really flawed in any manner. Enjoyable for what it is, I suppose, about average on the whole. 37.5cl bottle, Leffe goblet, bbe 04/09.

Very fruity, sweet aroma and taste. Body was bold red color with just off-white head. Very carbonated mouthfeel. Good cherry flavor - sweeter than other krieks I’ve had.

Reddish pink with a pink head & nice lacings. Sweet cheerry aroma and taste. Fresh mouthfeel. Went great with our ice cream dessert! Medium to low carbonation. Perhaps needs some extra sour cherries, but enjoyable!

Had this beer on 6/23/2000. Aroma is a rich sour scent. Color is a nice amber with good carbonation and head. Taste is rich and tangy. Starting with a medium body that goes down with a rich feel. Finish is a rich sour cheery tang. Not the best Lambic but still very good.
