Commercial Description:
The Kriek Mort Subite is brewed according to the ancestral lambic recipe. This original Belgian beer ferments spontaneously. Enriched with cherries, it matures soft and slowly in oaken casks. To be served cool.

Red color with a pink head. The taste is cherries but too sweet and syrupy. Has only sparse sourness.

Bottle – Poured a reddish brew with good carbonation. Aroma of cherries is overpowering with nothing else coming out in terms of aroma. Taste is bit too much cheery with not enough tart and tannic. Overall, this one is very refreshing but not the best from Mort Subite, nor close to the great kriek lambic.

375 ml corked bottle (champagne style). Enormous thick head, red colour, aroma is cherries (no surprise!) and red wine vinegar. Flavour is not nearly as sweet as Lindemans Kriek, quite dry really. Light bodied, but lots of cherries of course. Refreshing. Initially a little peppery bite. Moderately acidic.

Aroma is some cherries and a great sourness. Maybe some yeast too? Beautiful red body, with a nice fluffy head. The flavor is some cherries and some nice sourness. Compared to other beers with cherry this is good, it doesnt have that awful artificial taste.

POurs a deep amber coloring with a great cherry aroma. Slightly sour but overall a bit of syrupy sweetness that is not cloying, but is not my favorite of this style.

Pours a rich red color with little head. Lots of cherry in the aroma, a little sour, but not enough to turn you away. Flavor is tasty, full of sweet and tart cherry. Although the mouth is a little sour, their is no lingering sharp aftertaste.

(7 Jan 04) Blossoming pink head with excellent lacing. Rich red hue. Big bouquet of cherry in the nose. The body is creamy and lively with definate cherry flavours.

This beer came flying right out of the bottle when I opened it...!!
Medium pink head on a nice cherry colored body. Weak aroma of lambic and some cherry... Nice bittersweet lambic flavor with lack of cherry. I want more fruit :-) Sour aftertaste with a small vinegar note. Quite nice!
