Gary (352), Buckinghamshire, England Jan 16, 2009 Updated: Jan 17, 2009330ml corked bottle. Very refreshing & so damn eazy to sink, but the late acidity reminds you though, you’re not drinking Cherry-Cola. . Its got some nice cherry flavour.Less generic than I’d assumed. But a bit sugary in the body. Could be more tart .If you love the crazy shit they produce at Cantillion you may dislike this kinda thing. . Gpnterojd (162), Orangeville, Ontario, Canada Jan 10, 2009 Bottle from LCBO. Clear, reddish amber colour. Small head. Flavour has a metallic tinge, though cherry still comes through strongly. Sweet and sour. Solid liquid. mullet2007 (198), St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada Dec 17, 2008 Pours a very clear burgundy to faintly brown colour with a thin barely off white head. Nose is cherries and some funk. It was not really apparent in the framboise, but it is a little bit here. There is also a little bit of spiciness there. Flavour is initially strong sour cherries, but fades quite quickly to a very smooth brown sugar to molasses kind of flavour. There might be a bit of flowery hops there maybe, but if there is, it is barely just a hint. There is a bit of the spiciness in the finish as well. In the mouth it kind of feels like underdiluted kool-aid or something, almost powdery and dry, but not over poweringly sweet. Not really syrupy but not quite like water. Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Dec 8, 2008 A dark amber kriek with good carbonation. Aroma of powdery cherries, meaty notes. In mouth, light cherries, powdery and light acidity left, a bit dead. Bottle is BB 2000 (so around 1995). Old Stock Tasting June 2008. Rciesla (3510), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Dec 8, 2008 Bottle shared by paul. Pours a red pink body. Cherries very sweet and lightly oaked, cant touch the oude kriek. Bontus (293), Waasmunster, Belgium Dec 7, 2008 Bottle. Pours pink with a white head. Nose is sweet. Body is too watery for a kriek. Unbalanced in lack of bitterness and also lacking in aroma. Only hints of cassis and cherries. bchlala (42), Denmark Nov 1, 2008 I tasted this beer before I got my account with ratebeer, so I can’t really remember all the flavors. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA Oct 29, 2008 Pours a pinkish reddish color. Aromas of cherries, almonds. Flavor is a subdued tart cherry taste, not a big as I expected. Medium bodied with a slight tart mouthfeel. This is a great beer.
