TheGrandMaster (1846), Auckland, New Zealand Oct 12, 2008 Bottle (in NZ), pours a pinkish red with a large fluffy off white head and plenty of carbonation. Note of sweet cherries and butter, with a final sourness. A creamy palate, with only a moderate dryness after the swallow, when the cherries come through a little more. A little too sweet for me on the tongue and lacks the sourness of a good lambic. Pyobon (266), Sydney, Australia Oct 4, 2008 Draught. Clear red with huge light pink head. Little aroma, mainly cherries. Light body, well carbonated. Flavour is obviously cherries, but well balanced with lambic. Not subtle, but not over the top like many krieks. A very nice kriek / fruit lambic; well balanced and drinkable.
Aroma of aritficial cherries and marzipan. Some cinnamon develops in mouth. Flavour is very sweet. KimJohansen (6645), Copenhagen V, Denmark Aug 26, 2008 Clear red with pink head. Sweet aroma with artificial cherries and almond notes. Sweet flavor that holds notes of marzipan and cherries. Ends sweet. mgermani (862), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Aug 20, 2008 Pours a pale pink with a paler pink head with decent retention. Light sweet artificial cherry smell. Tastes like cherry pop, watery, drinkable though, rather inoffensive. Ok carb, thin body. Quaffable, bland. DuffMan (2719), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Aug 15, 2008 Pours a lovely dark pink, hazy. Black cherries dominate the aroma and flavour, with a slightly lactic and musty edge to add character. A nice summertime sipper. gilvanblight (390), Windsor, Ontario, Canada Aug 8, 2008 Redish pour with a thick lacey head. Cherry and hops scent. Not that sweet, actually kind of tart. Rather nice for a fruit beer (not usually a fan).
