Raphael__N (156), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 22, 2008 Bottle from LCBO. More expensive than the general beers there. Fancy packaging but disappointing in its expectations. Prominent white head on a transparent red beer. Not as good as Liefman’s kriek, but still a good buy, and the only kriekbier available for purchase at the LCBO. Was a little disappointed at first but really grew to like the taste. The palate was very simple but tasty nonetheless, dominant in cherries and sweet spice. Will probably buy another one if I get a craving for kriekbiers.
presario (2389), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jul 20, 2008 Bottle. Looks like BB4 some time in 2010. Very red, almost a very dark ruby-pink. Light foamy white head. Lightly sour cherry nose. Tame sourness. Lght cherry notes. Sourness picks up in spots balancing a fair sweetness. Seems a bit more like a commercial fruit beer than I woud expect. Juicy and enjoyable. BoBoChamp (281), Gent, Belgium Jul 20, 2008 25cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, easy to drink, little sweet, clear, rocky head rickgordon (3024), Göteborg, Sweden Jul 18, 2008 Bottle.
Light cloudy pinkish red colour with pink-white foam - beautiful! Aroma from almonds, marzipan, little cherry stone and the slightest of vanilla. Flavour is laid back cherries and not awfully sweet but there are probably added sugars. Very good balance and easy drinkable.
ekstedt (1739), Göteborg, Sweden Jul 13, 2008 Bottle (25 cl), thanks rickgordon. Ruby red with a creamy pink head. Fresh cherry aroma with some tart cidery grapefruit, and wooden notes. Soft carbonation. Well balanced with a light sweetness, gentle acidity and some vague grapefruit bitterness interplaying. blankboy (2499), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear bubbly orange-amber with a large lasting fizzy pinkish-white head. Nice lacing. Aroma of lightly tart cherries, sweet cherries and spices. Flavour’s somewhat sweet along with lightly tart cherries, light spices, wood and a dry lightly bitter finish. Medium bodied. No, it’s no sour bomb (which I love) but this is still an easy-to-drink and pleasant enough Fruit beer -- I enjoyed it.
