Some sweetness is evident in the aroma, though it’s mostly funk, cherry, and oak. Taste brings out more oak, and slightly tart cherries. A little acetone and acetic acid in there too. Medium palate and slightly spritzy. Good stuff.

A dark dark red lambic with a lovely aroma of sweet black cherries and a touch of sourness. It’s the same in the mouth; great friendly fruit yet just enough sour acidity to make it a superior lambic. It’s reasonably funky yet also welcomingly approachable. Beerlando (2367), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 14, 2009 2006 vintage, bottle #88138. Pours a hazy, dark, cherry red hue with a small but lasting cap of dusty, pink foam. A wet swath of soapy suds mostly rejoins the body, though a few, skinny, vertical trails of lacing show. The aroma gives some juicy cherry sweetness that fights it’s way through a musk of barnyard air and old, soured oak, with a decent twist of lemony, citric acidity
for balance. The flavor is sour and intense, taking on a bit of a cheesy, profile that shows just as strong as the sharp cherry. It burns quite acidic, almost bile-like at times, reminding me too much of I’ll fated college binge-fests that resulted in a not-so-pretty hommage to the porcelain god. Substantial in body for the style, the palate zips along with intense carbonation and the aforementioned, razor-sharp acidity. I’m glad to be able to broaden my horizons and try some new lambic producers on this trip,
and this one is no exception. Good, just not great. anders37 (4796), Malmö, Sweden
