Bottle: Thanks Benzai: Served in a Chouffe glass: Black beer with a creamy vanilla head. Aroma shows and exposes... Yep Bourbon. And loads of it! Accompanied by roast, chocolate, vanilla, mocha, manure, hint of molasses and ash. Flavours of chocolate, mocha, vanilla, bourbon, wood, bay leaf, bitters, roast, light nutty, light marzipan, some molasses, caramel, wood roast... Aftertaste is bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, bay leaf, roast and bitters. Malts and wood tints as well... Low carbo, close to silky mouthfeel, close to full bodied. Nice stuff!

Bottle [from IP trade with AlexFields, thanks!] @ home shared with Countbeer. Opaque pitch black color, average sized dark brown head that diminishes fairly quickly to a small dark brown head. Aroma is malts, dark malts, chocolate, light roast, heavy bourbon. Taste malts, soft roast, firm bourbon again, chocolate, mocha, oak, initially sweetish but ending with a nice light bitterness. Smooth texture, a bit oily, soft carbonation, medium to full body. Awesome beer. And only 9% ABV? That’s impressive. Absolutely amazing flavors. Absolutely love this beer.

Bouteille 75cl partagée avec Tomaz via trade. Bottled 11/2014.

Last beer of 2015, in Charlotte. Poured black, slight deep tan head. Aroma of chocolate, espresso, vanilla, slight booze. Flavor matched. Great sipper, enjoyed it. Good way to wrap up the year.

Black in color. Aromas of coffee and roasted malts, hints of bourbon and some spice. Flavors of strong Burbon, coffee and spice with some nuts and a bitter finish.

Tap. Moderate to heavy toasted, molasses and strong coffee for the malt, moderate resin and earth for the hops and yeast, with wood, licorice and bourbon in the background. Head is small, creamy, light brown with no lacing but good legs, and is fully diminishing. Color is very dark brown. Flavor starts lightly to moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and heavily bitter. Palate is medium to full, creamy with a soft carbonation and finishes heavily alcoholic. A super bold and super strong Imperial Stout.

2014 ’Silent Night’ corked bomber into snifter glass, opaque deep dark brown (black) color with dark tan lacing. Aroma notes of heavy roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, some dark fruit, wood char, vanilla and faint whiskey. Taste adds lighter roast, espresso, milk chocolate, heavier oak and earthy hop bitterness. Heavy body, low-moderate carbonation, rich, creamy with lingering woody coffee roast finish. In my opinion a excellent coffee bourbon barreled imperial stout; leans more on the chocolate, coffee and wood notes. Wish I had grabbed a second bottle, kind of a tad pricey though at $21 a bomber.
