3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared at the big Hair of the Dog PreSale Tasting... Poured dark, deep, near black with a khaki head. Smooth drinking, bourbon barrel qualities for sure. Cookie dough malt sweetness, vanilla, roast, dark chocolate, burnt coffee, ash, and a pleasant finish.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml bottle. Pours a dark cola brown with a very small off white head. The aroma was roasted malts, cocoa, bourbon, vanilla with a hint of wood. The flavor had everything from the nose with the addition of caramel and some dark fruits. Nice balance of flavors and no sign of alcohol.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap as Silent Night. Dark black pour with burnt wood brown edges and one finger of fizzy light tan head. Tons of bourbon in the nose, dominated by vanilla/bourbon/oak. Straight bourbon in the flavor, unabashedly so. 1 dimensional, warming/smooth. Needs more base beer.

750 ml bottle to snifter (thanks alexsdad06). Looks good; a dark and fairly opaque cola with beige lacing. Smells Good too; dark malt, bourbon, and vanilla with a sweet backbone. Tastes like it smells, but could be a little more chewy, and Iím getting some coffee in it too. Average on the palate (could use some more viscosity). Enjoyable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to Chad for this tick, drank from a Cigar City snifter... A black body, looks decent. Lots of carbonation here, at least three fingers of tan head, good retention and lacing. Looks good... Bitter chocolate, roasted bitters and lots of alcohol, off tartness, hint of maple which I attribute to the barrel. Too much alcohol, comes of chemically... The taste is slightly better than the aroma, but the mouthfeel is way over-carbonated and distracting and really detracts. Dark chocolate, wood, roast, and a bit of coffee. Meh.
I wasít too impressed with this, probably needs more time. Iíd re-visit in the future but canít recommend it right now.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle, labeled as Silent Night. Black in color with an enormous tan head that lasts. Big roasty aroma with charcoal, oak, and some dark chocolate. The flavor is big and very roasty with a dirty, earthy, charcoal note to it. Some sweet malt, prunes, and bitter dark chocolate as well. Medium-full bodied with softer carbonation and a pretty dry finish. Pretty good and unlike other imperial stouts. Beside the dirtiness, itís a good beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Mother earth silent night. Snifter pour at barleys. Described as a 9%
bourbon barrel aged imperial stout... Pours close to black with a semi-
thick medium khaki head... Flavors are chocolate with lots of
assertive bourbon notes with some molasses playing a backing role.
Some residual sweetness and a lighter roast. Sweetness sticks around
for too long on the back palate. Carbonation is somewhat lively and a
thinner body for an imperial stout.***this was labeled as Mother Earth Silent Night - Bourbon Barrel-aged Imperial Stout with a 9% abv.

Bottle from Appalachian Vintner. Pours back with an inch of brown foam. Nose is of alcohol and dark chocolate. Fair amount of oak and chocolate on the tongue. The alcoholís there but itís been muted. Finishes clean. Solid for style.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Dark brown-black, dark tan cover. Aroma is sharp oak, woody, chocolate, bourbon, vanilla. Taste is oaky, coffee, chocolate, wood, splintery alcohol finish. This reminds me a lot of the Boulevard Imperial Stout, and that is a good thing.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Opaque black pour with a lasting tan head.
Rich chocolate and coffee aroma.
Complex blend of flavors that follow the aroma and delivered with some sweetness, a bit of tartness and a dryness that comes in the finish.
