Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a clear dark brown color with a minimal tan head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy roast coffee, chocolate, wood and bourbon alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark bourbon sweet flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid brew.

750 ml bottle to snifter (thanks alexsdad06). Looks good; a dark and fairly opaque cola with beige lacing. Smells Good too; dark malt, bourbon, and vanilla with a sweet backbone. Tastes like it smells, but could be a little more chewy, and I’m getting some coffee in it too. Average on the palate (could use some more viscosity). Enjoyable.

On tap as Silent Night. Dark black pour with burnt wood brown edges and one finger of fizzy light tan head. Tons of bourbon in the nose, dominated by vanilla/bourbon/oak. Straight bourbon in the flavor, unabashedly so. 1 dimensional, warming/smooth. Needs more base beer.

Says Silent Night on the bottle
Appearance: Pours near black with a thin tan film.
Aroma: Sweet bourbon, cereal, roast, wood.
Taste: Dark chocolate, bourbon, wood, roast.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied. Active lively carb.
Overall: Exactly what I’m looking for in a barrel aged Imperial Stout. Not too thick, tons of barrel character holding a sturdy Imperial Stout. Tasty fresh, probably tastier with a year on it.

Review from 2010 - thanks jwale73. Pours a very dark black/brown with a large medium brown head that falls to a full blanket. Smell is rich dark malt, dark fruit, coconut. Taste is sweet rich dark malt, black licorice, booze. Dry slightly bitter with some char on the backend. Medium body, very active carbonation with fairly fine structure. Overall a little boozy for my taste otherwise a pretty tasty impy stout.
