UPDATED: NOV 23, 2013 Extra from trev1179(BA) , it was a while ago. Bottle dated 04 10. I assume that means 2010. Nose is bourbon and cane sugar. Taste is more old ale than belgian. Very smooth, lots of buttery bourbon. Great stuff.

2012 bomber into Trappist glass, cloudy golden-copper color with minimal bright white head. Aroma of sweet candy malt, caramel, fruity, slight vanilla and oak. Taste adds notes of dried fruits (raisins, apricots, figs), bubblegum, some citrus and light bourbon. Medium body, low carbonation, soft, kid of boozy, creamy, tannic with oaky sweet finish. Pretty oaky sweet tripel, aged very well.

Draft not a big tripel fan but enjoy most bbl beer. Really sweet. Nice bourbon aroma but much to sweet for first beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle shared by jmborggren. Pours a hazy dark golden amber color with a thin white film. The aroma and flavor has sweet malts, ripe fruits, bourbon, vanilla, honey and wood. The bourbon is very noticeable and probably a bit too much for the body of the beer.

750 ml bottle shared by jmborggren- thanks, Jeremy! Pours a hazy, dull gold color with a small head. Aroma of vanilla, caramel, oak, dried apricot, dried grains, and straw. Flavor is the same. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a dry, sweet mouthfeel. This worked for me. Nice barrel-aged tripel.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750ml bottle, shared by jmborggren. Mostly hazy orange amber color. Minimal white head, couple specks of lace. Awesome vanilla bourbon aroma. Bigger body, lightly crisp carbonation. Full-bodied, but lightly dry in the finish. Good long oaky vanilla aftertaste. Sweeter taste, light bitter, tasty light bourbon warmth. Bit of a warm banana bread type base. Very tasty stuff. Awesome bourbon character here is prominent, without having any bite or warmth

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Comes out of the bottle a beautiful golden amber, bubbly as champagne, with a very thick and fluffy pale wheat head. Strong aroma has apple, pear and caramel notes with a subtle malty underpinning. Flavor is rather sweet, but not cloying - apple, honey, caramel, an alcohol nip from the barrel aging, earthy and woody hints. Firm, smooth, fizzy texture leaves a fruity and woody finish that has a hint of bourbon. Go overhead over heels for this one!

On tap at the 1st annual Asheville Rare & Wild Beer Tasting 2013, this pours hazy orange, with a small ring of suds. The nose is of pure tropical coconut. The bourbon plays off of tropical fruit flavors and coconut, giving a warming vanilla finish. This one has a nice full body and is very enjoyable, with a smooth drinkable palate.
