4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
650 ml bottle from Bev4less. Pours a hazy amber color with a medium fluffy off-white head that has great retention. The aroma is somewhat mild with oranges, tangerines, bubble gum and caramel. The flavor is vibrant tropical fruits with a big pineapple presence, add in some tangy tangerine, bitter grapefruit and not-to-sweet caramel. The palate is full and viscous with lively carbonation. Finishes long and dry. Overall: First rate DIPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is big and malty, with loads of citrus hops, maybe even more caramel malts to back and a bit of residual sugars. Flavour makes it seem like more a barley wine / imperial IPA hybrid, bringing out loads of caramel malts, a big resinous hop profile, and some residual sugars, but actually less than you might think given my description. Finishes both hoppy, slightly sweet and quite boozy. The more this warms and the more your palate grows accustomed to the flavours, the more hoppy than malty it seems. If you look at this as a super hoppy barley wine, this is actually quite good. It’s just that I wanted a IIIPA and I got this. Regardless of style, this is very good.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nice slightly hazy amber coloured body with a hint of an orange and bronze glow and a thick, three centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of pungent piney and resinous hops, some alcohol, bunches of fruity sugars and a strong metallic and earthy bite. Full-bodied; Syrupy sweetness with a huge punch of alcohol, malt, apricot and peaches, hop bitterness, but really thick and not especially easy to drink. Aftertaste almost hits like a barley wine with a deep sweetness, syrupy thickness and a strong finish - almost all hops, alcohol and syrup. Overall, a strong Imperial IPA with almost too much body and sweetness. With such a big beer, this one really shouldn’t be in such a big bottle - twelve ounces at most! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Olive Tree Market Place in San Diego, California on 07-June-2013 for US$8.99 sampled at home in Washington on 28-July-2013.

Fruity big DIPA. Hop forward, and with taste. Getting tropical fruit, grapefruit. Perhaps fresh would even be better.
Thanks to StefanSD for hooking me up.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle to glass. Pours a slightly hazy deep amber color with a thin off white head. Aroma is quite hot, with strong caramel malts and fleshy fruit and resiny hops. Taste is quite bitter with a light caramel malt sweetness and a nice alcohol burn. Medium palate with a lingering bitter finish. Tasty beer, but not an outstanding imperial IPA.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
22oz bomber pours with a fairly clear copper body that exhibits a slight haziness and supports a thin off white head. The aroma offers up modest levels of resiny pine hops and sweet citrus hard candy as well as faint malts and earthy hoppiness. The taste is pretty smooth for the style and leans toward an American style barleywine. I get malt sweetness and firm pine hop flavor mixing with malt sweetened citrus hops. There are lots of hops but mostly flavor hops or malt sweet and smoothed bitter hops. This is pretty clean and non cloying for what this is and the big ABV is well hidden. Nice sipper.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nose of toasty doughy malts, a little bit of caramel, somewhat winey citrus floral hops - tropical light fruits. Mostly doughy malt however. Pours hazy amber, nice creamy head and lace. Flavors of toasted dough, caramel, moderate citrus and lighter fruity - tropical papaya and all that good shit. Lingering toasted caramel sweetness with moderate tropical fruit hops. Would have prefered more hop assertivceness but a nicely balanced big ipa.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours hazy orange amber with a small off-white orangish head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is surprisingly faint, with notes of caramel, pine and citrus. Flavor starts similar, but has a lot more going on, with rich notes of grapefruit, pine resin, caramel. Medium sweet, medium plus bitter. Medium body, rich oily mouthfeel. Quite a good beer, just wish it had more nose.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Great effort. Big on citrus, tropical fruit, hops and plenty of sweet malt backing it up. My only complaint is the transition. The front end and back end are really good but there doesn’t appear to be a transitional middle. Great beer though from a brewery that has been lacking in my books.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour from a bottle shared by Byron - thanks! Slightly hazy golden pour with an off-white head. Minimal pine and bitterness in the aroma. Taste is light pine and hope bitterness with noticeable alcohol and sweet malt and some near barley wine tones from the heavy malt. Coating mouthfeel. Nice but way to heavy on the malt and not enough so on the hops presence.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Rating lucky #7. Bomber from Bev4Less. Pours nice opaque ruby amber. Little lacing of white foam on top. Nice clean malt taste... rich with pale and crystal malt flavor, nice cinnamony sweetness. Well balanced with hop flavor, so not overboard on the malt... Really amazing equilibrium. Excellent, excellent beer. ABV is really well disguised. Solid stuff. Aroma is where the hops come through, and that’s mostly grapefruit... definitely a malt-driven beer.
