There is something really intriguing about a beer that is light in color, yet still infused with huge aroma and flavor, isnít there? It deceives the senses in a pleasant, yet completely surprising way; tasting great beer tends to be like that. So much of what we "expect" to taste, influences our opinion even before we actually do the tasting. Today, we ask that you set any preconceived notions aside so that you can take in the unexpected. A simple grain bill of pils, light crystal, and a bit of wheat, combined with a vigorous hop dosing of Mosaic and Simcoe make this beer just bookoo enough. Just donít call it "too bookoo!"

Tap at Mother Earth. Pours pale gold with a fluffy white head, moderate lacing. Aroma is pine, pineapple, citrus, but has a some funk that kind of overpowers. Taste is nice citrus, hints of pineapple, good pine bitterness. Palate is clean. Good carbonation level. Great beer.

Draft at the brewery. Pours clear gold with a fizzy white head. Tastes like smooth orange, grapefruit, pleasant citrus hops, light caramel, cereal malt. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like sweet citrus hops, light caramel, cereal malt, grapefruit, orange.

Sweet Hoppy Jesus. Boo Koo caught my attention instantly with its aroma (juicy, tropical, citrusy - heavily redolent of pineapple). I was also struck by the light-colored body. Boo Koo wasnít quite as pale as a White IPA, but it sure wasnít orange. Flavor was excellent. Crisp, dry, and balanced. The pineapple carries through. There are also touches of nectar, grapefruit, and grass. Basically, Iíd love to have a glass of this stuff next to me right now. Boo Koo has a weird name, but with flavors and complexity like this, I canít hold that against it.

(Thanks Stefan "StefanSD") Bottle. A- Pineapple, pine, floral, citrus. A- Yellow color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Pineapple, bitter, pine, floral, grassy, citrus. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- Lots of citrus in this one, most notably pineapple. Also a ton of pine. Not a bad IPA, this drank pretty easy.

Totally love this stuff. Aroma of grapefruit, meringue, oranges, melon and pine. Tastes about the same s the nose. This is one of the reasons I am glad that I live in SoCal.

A big West Coast IPA big pine and grapefruit notes on the nose with a great hoppy mouth feel. Definitely will be getting this on the regular.

Tap @ Bagby. Bright golden pour with a white head. Aroma is aggressive bitterness and sharp pine with dry biscuit malt. Taste is strong bitterness and assertive pine with spots of citrus and a clean malt backbone. Lightly coating mouthfeel. Solid.

Bottle. Pours clear gold with a thin white head. Wow, this is pretty awesome. Lemony citric and resinous hops, fresh pine and spruce, moderate bitterness, and a sharp hoppy finish with a bit of lingering bitterness. Zero astringency, no unnecessary ABV , very mild part presence. Really great. Iíd have guessed Chinook, Amarillo and Simcoe hops, but it looks like Mosaic and Simcoe from the description. Super fresh and bright and delicious.
