There is something really intriguing about a beer that is light in color, yet still infused with huge aroma and flavor, isn’t there? It deceives the senses in a pleasant, yet completely surprising way; tasting great beer tends to be like that. So much of what we "expect" to taste, influences our opinion even before we actually do the tasting. Today, we ask that you set any preconceived notions aside so that you can take in the unexpected. A simple grain bill of pils, light crystal, and a bit of wheat, combined with a vigorous hop dosing of Mosaic and Simcoe make this beer just bookoo enough. Just don’t call it "too bookoo!"

Bomber. Clear gold. Aroma of pine. Hops are are smooth and very upfront. Citrus, pine, passionfruit. Excellent IPA but I’m sure I’ve had it 20 times before. Might want to consider moving away from a name that evokes boko haram.

Aroma brings all those notes you expect and want: Oranges, peaches, grapefruit and slight pine. A note of crisp pale malts as well. Taste is not as bold as the aroma, but manages to push fruity hops with a citrus oily sting right into your mouth. Slight earthy notes on the "outside" with a citrus hoppy bite in "the middle". Aftertaste is mid-bitter and you have a nice and very drinkable IPA in your hands.

355ml can at home in Richmond as ’Mother Earth Boo Koo’, 6.5%, 5 months old. First thing I notice on the pour is the dank mosaic aroma. Yum. Hazy golden yellow, a few bubbles, dense foamy white head, thick lacing. Aroma is dried out peaches, hop sack, some spring onion, musty. Great. Body is quite light, tingly carbonation, quite smooth. Taste is flavoured sodawater, some of the dankness from the aroma follows into the taste, touch buttery, floral, some light pine. Really drinkable and quite tasty, but a shame that the flavour doesn’t match up to the aroma. A bit washed out and thin bodied, though I accept that this is 5 months old. Still, the aroma got me excited and it ended up a bit disappointing.

Caned. Many thanks to my friend Paul from San Diego. Almost clear golden color. White soapy head. Aroma of chemomaile flowers, fresh pealed apples, marginal grapes. Taste mirrors the aroma. Bitter hops dry finish. Refreshing. Excellent.

Bottle at home. Clear golden pour, thin white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, floral hops and quite fruity. Flavor is quite bitter, fruity and with a decent body. Very nice balance.
