COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A clear, crisp beer, Kölsch offers a very slight fruity flavor and aroma. It is light gold in color, with a delicate head. This light-bodied beer appeals to nearly everyone who samples it. Expect to enjoy a slight tang in the finish.

Mother Earth has made it to GA. Exited to see this one on the shelf, love the style. Bright golden pour with lively carbonation and a nice quick fading white head. Aroma was bittersweet with notes of orange and grassy hops. Flavors were crisp and dry with bready malt notes throughout. Some spicy Saaz like hops come through in the finish as well. Long lingering finish. Mouthfeel was in the medium range with a perfect carbonation level. On the high side of standard. Big fan of the style and this didn’t disappoint. Nicely done.

Unmalted barley and hay nose, clean and strong. Clear yellow thin head. Flavor is lemony hay, slightly vegetal. Alcohol not noticeable, mouthfeel is a bit fizzy, body is light.

Originally reviewed: 4/19/10. Had this on tap at the First St. Draught House in town. Came out a crystal clear gold with a thin white head on top. No sticky lace left behind. Scents of corn, butter, lemon zest, and sharp hops. The body is crisp and bubbly. Refreshing feel. Great lemony flavor right away. Silky buttery feel. Some bready biscuit aftertaste. Definite noble hops present as well. I really like this beer. This style is quickly becoming one of my go-to’s, and this one is a great example.

This is my first experience with Kolschs and if they are all this good, I have found a worthy alternative to wheat beers as my summertime brew. Slighty sweet aromas, but not too aggressive. Smooth and lush on the palate. Slightly sweet and spicy with nice complexity and balance. Creamy, yet brief finish.

Pours a pale golden clear color with a small head that quickly dissipates. Crisp toasted malt flavor. Minimal hops that are piney. Mildly sweet up front with subtle bitterness. Well balanced. Slight metallic taste. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Abrupt finish. Good, solid beer.

Rich, malty aroma has caramel and earthy notes and a hint of molasses. It pours a clear solar yellow with a fairly thick, if not too persistent, white head that leaves minimal lacing. Flavor fills the mouth with malt that has caramel, earthy, and edgy bitter hoppy underpinnings. Lively texture has a little more than average body, and leaves a subtle tingle.

Bottle. Excellent example of the style -- Bright and clear, with exceptional, even carbonation -- this looks like one of those old beer signs that had the beer bubbles infinitely rising. Nice creamy consistency and the light grassy notes of a kolsch. (#4426, 1/1/2012)

Bottle. The pour was a hazy medium yellow with an average sized (1-2 finger) white fluffy head that lasted a little while and had some nice lacing. The aroma was super light of a grain malt, grassy and floral hops and a soapy yeast with a hint of lemon. The taste was lightly sweet and mildly acidic with touch of lemon at first and slightly bitter with a large does of yeast and a hint of citrus at the end. The flavor lasted an average time with a yeasty-citrus taste lingering on for a little while. Mouthfeel was light in body and watery in texture with the carbonation being rather soft. Overall this was a nice light refreshing Kölsch. Although nothing special really stuck out it was quite solid for the style.
