COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This DIPA is a bad ass. Straight up. It’s hopiness isn’t just limited to the floral nose or lingering bitterness but a full hop flavor all the way through your palate. We bitter with a Super Alpha, and follow it up with a few flavoring additions throughout the boil. A massive dry hop of Simcoe and Amarillo create a huge aroma profile that really comes through in a big way.

Bottled. Pours slightly hazy light gold color with a thick sticky head. Nice grassy aroma with notes of fresh cut grass and orange citrus. Straightforward DIPA flavor of lemon, orange and grapefruit citrus with the malt base subdued so as to keep the profile light and crisp. I prefer this approach to a good DIPA. bitterness is medium strength and fairly well balanced. Good carbonation with a refreshing palate. Very tasty. I look forward to trying more of M.E.’s brews

Aroma of plastic and rubber tire. Flavor is of a distilled white wine, very phenolic. No head fizzy carbonation. Could be old beer stored poorly.

Draft at the brewery. Pours hazy amber with a fizzy off white head and lots of lacing. Tastes like smooth sweet grapefruit, musky orange hops, hop resin, caramel, cereal malt. Medium body and low carbonation. Smells like grapefruit, caramel, resin, and cereal malt.

A fair XXIPA not much nose but fair, taste like an IPA nothing stands out. Better than many, easy to come by in SD, just your typical sd XXIPA floral and bitter, may be I am getting spoiled or jaded over IPAs.

Bottle at home. Hazy almost dirty looking orange colour, thin quickly disappearing head. Extremely hoppy and very sweet, but nice

San Diego Summer Trip 2014 - Amber in color, clear with a thin head. Big hops flavor and finish. I was impressed.

650ml bottle from Saveur-biere

Pours clear golden orange with a smooth head. Aroma of resinous hops, grass, tropical fruits, floral notes and citrus. Taste is resinous, crisp and grassy with some floral notes and tropical fruitness. Finish is malty, crisp and lingering bitter with some grassy hoppiness. Okay, slightly unbalanced DIPA.

Very glad to get this bottle thanks to some over-active importer. :) Golden lightly amber body and nice head. Very rich in hops yet also a strong amber malt balance, with some extra biscuit notes. The hops are modern, piney, spruce and even leave a spicy trace. Drinks dangerously well. I really dig the clean fermentation and soft carbonation, to make this double ipa really justify the 8% abv -- something certainly not always achieved in this style. I have had (even) heavier hop bomb for sure, but this is super well made and I love the brewing qualities. Nice! (65cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

olio (7424) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 5, 2014
65 cl bottle.
Pours amber color with a large, lasting head. Quite malty aroma, not as hoppy as I expected, mild rye notes, some resin and caramel. Sweet caramel malts and orange on the flavor, resinous hops, piney. Moderately bitter, sweet malty palate, lingering caramel finish. Probably not the freshest of bottles, a bit of a disappointment.

0.5 l bottle at Timo A’s. Copper color. Bright floral and citrusy aroma with lemon and pine. Citrusy and bitter taste with orange, mango, pine, menthol and some onion. Firmly hoppy yet drinkable, nice.

lusikka (7038) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 1, 2014
650 ml bottle. Pours a cloudy orange amber colour with a firm white head. Aroma is very earthy with some biscuit and floral notes. Flavour of rich floral hops, caramel, biscuity maltiness, grapefruit, pine and quite a bit of resinous notes. Some mildly sweet mango notes too. Medium bodied with a long lingering bitter finish with resin. Quite strong.
