This IPA will “wow” those tastebuds and wake up your nose! Fruitiness in the aroma and a mango-like finish from the NZ Nelson hops used are sure to get you to believe in fate!

A good IPA courtesy my Secret Santa. Thanks! Aroma was average. Could pick up some floral hops and grass. Wasn’t very strong. Pour was a nice bubbly dark gold with a one finger white head. Taste was much better than the aroma. Fiercely bitter with notes of passion fruit and ginger. The hops really drown everything else out which is fine by me. Nice carbonation round this beer out. If you don’t like one dimensional hop bombs stay away. For the rest of us, enjoy!

May 11th, 2014 - Mother Earth’s Kismet gives off a strange and unearthly vibe when it is purchased from the very unspiritual and spacious confines of a Costco, but even if the branding seems incongruous, the beer itself is aligned with itself, in perfect harmony, but in a very curious and orthogonal realm of scents and flavors. On the nose I catch dandelions and bitter greens, but what I find most vexing is the squeeze of lime. What hops accounts for that? Unsure, I dip into the foam, and through to the clear, amber broth underneath, immediately picking up on a complex array of flavors. Light and citrusy and hoppy at the start, but also sweeter than I am expecting, giving the introduction with the bitter greens. The body is also thinner than I expected, but the carbonation adds the missing buoyancy, further accenting the lemon and lime notes, already somewhat prominent. The aftertaste is neither short nor long, but enough to give a last fading glimpse at a fascinating hop profile.

Can from Casa De Oro. Fairly dank up front with a pretty good hoppy flavor. Some fruitiness in the finish. A little thin on the palate. Good clean drinkable IPA. Not as good as some of their others though.

Very earthy hop aromas. Deep Trish copper frothy lasting head. Smooth deep flavor that the hops nicely complement. Great medium body. Great balance.

Another expensive average IPA. Kinda sweet on palate and hop flavor and aroma is average. Ok.

Bottle from Bottle Baron. Hazy golden/amber body with a huge off-white head. Lively carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of floral hops, straw and blood orange. Flavour of caramel, burnt orange and candy. Long, bitter finish. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel and light fizz. A solid, well made IPA.

Thanks! to Angela. 655 ml. bottle sampled @ ZZT XIII. Light hazy orange, small off-white head. Nose is weirdly sweetish, very sweet, Turkish fruit, malt, sugar, malt, light pine & touch medicinal hop. Taste is caramel, Turkish fruit, overly sweet with light odd medicinal hops, herbal, cereal. Turkish fruits & malts body. Too sweet but not entirely bad, enjoyable even, hugely unbalanced. Not sure if it is the age or just how this beer is (I didn’t find a date on the bottle).

Bottle @ ZZT, small sample. Clear dark golden color, short frothy head. Aroma of biscuity and cookie malt, slight citrussy and piney hop. Medium bitterness. Could have been more fresh I think, or used more hop.

Bottle @ ZZT XII. Clear a bit rusty orange color, average to medium sized white head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, sweet hops, lightly old hops. Taste malts, again lightly old hops, sweet malts, lightly bitter. Decent body and carbonation. Hmm ok but not great.
