3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAY 12, 2013 Bottle, dajio, Ocracoke. a nice suprise- havenít been a huge fan of this brewery so far. Pours a light copper with a thin white somewhat wimpy-didnít quite come to the party- head. taste is all caramel and sweet at first followed by a decent hoppiness. something different in the hops here- good and makes one ponder. only issue with this one is the finish- not quite balanced- a bit bitter at the end. without the bitterness would have rated in the 4 range. good ipa- will have again.
May 12/ 13. More bitter than I remember- served slightly warmer and bitterness in the first taste and on the finish. definitely prefer the hoppyum on tap at dajio to this offering. probably better paired with something assertive in the food department.

2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle pours a hazy gold with an off white head. More malt than anything. I might have gotten this to late.

2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 12/20
Crisp, very hazy bronze coloured body with a decent two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of fresh grassy and bready hops with a good yeast and malt nose, some alcohol and a touch of citrus and sugars at the finish. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and dry note up front with a good hop flavour but no malt backbone to speak of at all, just a PNW hop kick at first but nothing supporting it and no depth at all. Aftertaste shows a subdued grass note, hints of the hops but little else - no complexity and no depth here, which is too bad. Overall, a good smelling and nice tasting beer initially, but this fades fast and only a shell of a beer is left. Decent to try, but there are much better examples of the style to try than this one. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Clarendon), Virginia on 27-July-2014 for US$2,49 sampled at home in Washington on 18-August-2014.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Cedars in Penn Quarter in Washington, DC.
Hazy amber with an off-white head and very good lacing.
Aroma of malt, light fruit, caramel, floral hops and light citrus.
Taste of caramel, intense floral hops, light fruit and mild citrus.
Medium body and medium/low carbonization.
I found this to be an odd IPA. It was very bitter, but without either the citrus/pine intensity nor a tropical fruit hoppiness.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Not a big fan of this IPA. The bready malts and the metallic fruits were confusingly mingled. Tried this at the DC beerfest with Jess, Mark, and Matt in 2014.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Some citrus and some sweet malt but comes together with a tinge of acridness that puts me off. On tap at DC Summerfest.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A mild taste with a mild IPA flavor. Builds in the middle with a slight pine. Finishes with a lingering light hoppy taste when you inhale. Perfect when you want more than.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Kind of strange, but I can't put my finger on it. Not like other IPA's that I like, but overall, just ok...

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle @ home, thanks to jcnielsen. Pours a cloudy yellow orange appearance with a cream colored head. Tropical fruity, a bit woody, a bit papery aroma. A little twangy. Kind of dusty / cardboard-y flavor. Plenty of citrus. Moderate to high sweetness. High bitterness. Not in the best shape but Iím still not a huge fan.
