Vista’s Golden Anniversary is upon us! In honor of our city, we brewed a golden Pale Ale, San Diego Style of course. An aggressively hopped, citrusy and fruit forward flavor hits your palate with herbal and piney back notes. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the good ol’ days just thinkin’ back to ’63… 5.5% ABV 63 IBUs

On tap @ Mother Earth. Clear orange/amber pour with a white. All grassy hops and a bit of green coffee. Sweet toasty and bready malt. Sort of watery and grassy. Flavor is just bland and sweet for the most part with an odd bitterness on the finish. Fruit skin astringency is too damn high. No thanks.

Tap @ brewery. Clear golden color with white foam. Aroma is pine, comimentary bitterness, and dry malt. Taste is mostly hop bitterness with some pine and lighter, sweet malt. Clean, crisp mouthfeel. Nice pale ale.

Sampled on 3/19/2013 on tap at the taproom. This golden/pale ale pours a slightly hazy orange gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, citrusy and hoppy. A medium bodied golden/pale ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy and grapefruity. Lots of orange and citrus flavors in this beer. Good balance. A touch sweet. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slighlty bitter.
