This beer style is over 400 years old, and continues to enjoy overwhelming popularity. Offering low hop bitterness, it is easy to enjoy. It pours very hazy, with a light gold color... we say itís like summertime in a glass. Bitter orange peel and fresh coriander add zest and depth to this light, refreshing beer.

Bottle. Pour easily into a clear, pale yellow stillness, with what little head appeared giving up nearly right away. Crystal clear, not hazy as youíd expect. This drinks like everymanís beer, with just the slightest hint of the orange and coriander, barely enough to make you think it might be a wit. No imperfections here, just unexciting. Aroma is strong and surprisingly fruity, having components of sour apple and orange. It pours a rather nice somewhat hazy amber with a decent white head. I noticed a few goobers floating around, but they were not off-putting. Flavor is sublime - wheaty and yeasty with an overtone of honey and good fruity notes, mainly sour orange with hints of apple and lemon, and as I continue to drink, herbal and clove tones - very tasty. Texture is smooth but only slightly fizzy, leaving a slightly sweet fruity finish. A good drink to enjoy in winter, this brings a little sunshine into a cold, cloudy day - and as I drink this, the weather is dreary, cold and wet.

Bottle. Very heavy on the coriander- or at least the coriander is pronounced which for me is a plus. Alas it also has a perfumet-ness thatís a little heavy for me.

Very slightly hazy straw colored pour with a huge foamy white head. Aroma of yeasty esters and coriander. Weird very slight whiff of sulfide as well. Flavor similar to aroma with a slight sweetness. Medium bodied and medium carbonation (Iíd prefer a bit more). Not bad ... but Iíve had better from Mother Earth.

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy yellow color with a big frothy white head and light lacing. Aroma of wheat, honey, tart citrus zest and mild spice. The flavor follows the aroma with the spices bein gmuch more pronounced. Light bodied with mild tingly carbonation. Tasty and refreshing, well balanced, nice wit example.

A: The pour is a hazy light yellow/straw color with just a small white head. S: Starts off with a very bright citrus and citrus peel aroma. There is a lot of wheat and some light spices, which is pretty much how I like my witbiers. Itís very fruity, which is sort of surprising. And of course, thereís a bit of yeast. T: The flavor is also very fruity, which you donít normally expect for a witbier, but I think itís great. Heavy on the citrus with only mild spices. Lots of wheat bread and sweet malts with a touch of yeast. M: Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. O: This was very light and refreshing and had very nice aromas and flavors. One of the best witbiers Iíve had.
