Windowpane: Blackberries is a Double Wit beer, which is then fermented with blackberries and aged in a pinot noir wine barrel for three months! The finished product provides a spectacular combination of flavors that you donít want to miss.

bottle. Not a fan. More pinot noir and less blackberries. alcohol is really 7 not 9 as this site says. At least the 2013 is 7. Was expecting a lot more and im bummed.

More tart than sweet. Blackberry liquor and muffins in the nose. More tart in the nose than the mouth. Slightly yeasty. Fine, mildly tart, lingering aftertaste. O: My least favorite of the 3 beers Iíve tried in the Mother Earth Windowpane series.

Pours a hazy honey-golden with a thick and rather persistent eggshell head. Malty aroma has a hint of blackberry. Not strong, but intriguing. Flavor is mainly malty, a little bit of blackberry, slightly sour, slightly hoppy. Texture has good fizz and decent viscosity. Donít know if it was worth the price, but it is definitely enjoyable. Heck, itís from a great North Carolina microbrewery, and I like!

Bottle. Hazy golden amber color, medium white head. Aroma is fruity, with apples, peaches, pears, some vanilla and citrus. Taste is vinous fruit, tannins. Odd combinations.

Bottle poured into a chalice. Pours a dark orange that carries a slight chill haze. Small off-white head on top. The aroma is almost completely wine-like. That barrel really took over the bouquet. Really a tart scent - lemon zest, grapes, blackberries, some ethanol. Moderate carbonation. I actually expected this one to carry a bit more spritz, but it seems thin at times. Light feel, though, eases the drinkability of this tart beer. This beer packs a wallop of fruity flavors. Blackberry, lemon, and the pinot grapes really dominate, leaving a nice tart smack on the palate. The finish is short though, causing me to sip and sip all the more. The spices that are normally present in a Wit, Iím not finding much of. The barreling as well as time aged Iím sure have mellowed those out a bit. A nice simple tart beer. I really enjoyed this one much more than their second installment - Peach. This one delivered as advertised: an easy drinking tart beer. Nice work, MEB.

[4705-20120818] Bottle. Pungent smoked honey woody sweet malt aroma. Slightly hazy, orange brown body with a quick foamy white head. Honey lemon pineapple flavour has an underlying bread-and-honey base. Medium body. Really interesting, the aroma is misleading. (5/3/7/3/13) 3.1

Bottle shared at Kramerís Campground Brewdown 2012. Pours an amber hazed body with white lacing. Aroma is light berries. Mouthfeel is soft with notes of light tart and soft fruit. Very plain overall, but not bad.

Had this at the Campground Brewdown. Pours a hazed golden amber with a medium sized white head. Smells of fruit yogurt, yoplait or something like that. Medium bodied, light tangy wheat, tart and fruity. More yogurt flavors, tangy but not sour or tart. Fruit and sweetness coming through on the finish.
