The Bourbon Barrel Imperial Three Blind Mice, once Motherís little brown beer, is now all grown up and running the show. Rich and full bodied with chocolate, coffee, and caramel malt flavors, it bestows a noble hop nose and balanced finish on its loyal subjects. This is one regal brew fit for a king - out on the town or home in the castle.

Starts with a bourbon forward flavor and a hint of maple. The sweetness is reigned in by the potency of the alcohol and coffee notes.

Multifaceted and pungent, acidic aroma of bourbon, vanilla, oak, cherry, wood, booze. Deep brown with red highlights appearance-wise. Small, tightly bubbled head that retains well with creamy lacing ring. Tastes just like it smells - lots of acid, etc. Though a strong beer, it doesnít strike me as heavy-bodied - goes down pretty smooth, all things considered. Not noticing the chocolate or coffee presence in this one. Would never guess it related to the regular TBM that Motherís makes, actually. Amazing how much bourbon and higher booze levels can change a beer! Anyway, pretty tasty stuff - a nice American Strong, best for slow sipping due to high booze and sharpness.

22oz bottle. Tasted at RBSG grand tasting. Clear dark brown red color. Thin khaki ring of head, leaves decent lace. Medium body. Smooth, kind of soft crisp lighter carbonation. Good creaminess to the texture and flavor. Vanilla, toast, nuttiness, chocolate. Moderate sweet taste, light spicy, light bitter, hint of warmth. Tasty complex ba imp brown ale.

Color and aroma are nice. However I felt the flavor was a tad lagging behind similar offerings from other brewers. This was a solid beer, it just didn't rise above. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pretty good, but not as good as other imperials that I've previously tasted ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle no. 212. Upon being poured into a glass, the appearance is a deep, clear auburn color with a medium tan head that fades to a ring. The aroma of the beer is heavenly with a strong booziness, yet the caramel malts balance it to the point of smoothness and blended perfection; furthermore, the taste mildly umami, mildly sweet, and a slightly bitter. Additionally, the palate combines a warming and boozy finish, medium-full body, soft carbonation, and an oily texture, which is almost too much for you to process all at once.

Wow, if you liked the Imperial Three Blind Mice, just wait until you try this one. It poured a dark brown color with a small light tan head. The aroma was of bourbon, and lots of bourbon with roasty maltiness and some chocolate layers. The taste was on the bourbon side as well, kind of sweet, with a medium body and an oily texture. Good carbonation, very tasty, drinkable beer. An excellent Bourbon Barrel beer.
