COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big and hoppy and pleasantly bitter, Doozy is a Double IPA crafted for hop lovers by hop lovers. At every stage of the brewing process, we saw another chance to add more coveted Citra hops. The result is a medium-bodied, deep-golden beer thatís knock you back bold from start to finish. Did we mention the hops?

12 oz. bottle via in-person STL trade. Pours a hazy golden golden color with an orange hue and a finger of off-white head that settles into a lasting film and thick ring that leaves minor trailing lace. Plenty of yeast floaters at the bottom, too. Aroma of sweet, caramel, and toasted malts, orange citrus, mango, melon, and dried apricot, with some perfume, as well. Flavor of florals, perfume, sweet malts, dried tropical fruits, sugar, and orange peel. Medium-bodied, with a sweet mouthfeel that finishes bitter and has moderate carbonation. The hops are complex but arenít popping to the degree I expected; I need to try a fresher bottle.

Highly aromatic hop profile: lemon, grapefruit, apricot, lime, and stone fruit. Very malty on first taste but then the bitterness hits the back end of the palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Wonderful mouth feel. Very interesting citrusy/hoppy/bitter flavor. This is small batch lil helper with higher gravity. Aroma is very pleasant, love pairing this with BBQ pork.

Bottle thanks to RobertDale. Pours cloudy amber with a medium orange-beige head and nice lacing. Aroma is pine, spruce, touch of urinal. Flavor is the same (minus the urinal), with some citrus and a light dankness. Lightly sweet, medium bitter. Medium body, oily mouthfeel.

Bottle. Slightly hazy. Hoppy, floral nose. Full on citra hops flavor. Very nice citrusy and bitter taste. Worthy effort.

The appearance of this beer is gorgeous and can make you fall in love at first sight due to its many facets: the orangeish amber color, the medium- and large-grain sediment floating throughout the liquid, and the large off-white head the fades at a mild pace; also, the aroma isnít too strong with its currents of citrus and floral hops as well as diacetyl. Once sipped, you remember why you feel in love at first sight, for the first taste is just as good (if not better). The flavors fuse a mild bitterness, a mild sweetness, and a touch of umami, and the palate harmonizes the creamy texture, the medium body, soft carbonation, and a sweetly bitter finish, making for a very desirable brew.
