3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 thomas15 (521) - USA - FEB 11, 2013Sweet chocolatey malt with forward cinnamon in aroma. Interesting. Dark reddish brown with beige head. Some lacing. Taste is kind of all over after the first general cinnamon flavor. Peppers come through on the back end. Its an ok beer.
3.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 EtTuCthulhu (399) - Columbia, Missouri, USA - MAY 19, 2013
The light aroma of this beer combines toasted malts, chocolate, and a slight pepper scent, and the appearance combines a hazy brown color with a small off white head. The taste of this beer combines a mildly sweet, slightly sour, touch spicy, and a touch umami flavors, and the palate combines a medium body, a lively carbonation with a bite, thin texture, and abrupt finish.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 RobertDale (1909) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - MAY 5, 2013
12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear brown with a decent tan head. Aroma of malt and spice. Taste is malt, cinnamon, chocolate, and some hint of peppers. Interesting.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 phaleslu (4454) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 1, 2013
12 oz. bottle opened at the Beer Download table at DLD. Pours a clear amber-brown color with a beige head. Cinnamon leads the aroma, with pepper throughout and caramel and brown sugar. The flavor is actually mellower - the peppers really kick the nostrils - until the end, which lingers. Medium-bodied, spicy and sweet, with moderate carbonation. Fun beer, and well done compared to most that experiment with peppers.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 adnielsen (6217) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - APR 12, 2013
Bottle @ home via trade with jcnielsen. Thanks Justin! Pours a cloudy, dark orangish brown appearance with a very sizable brown head. Chocolate, mild veggie, lightly spicy, light fruity, a bit minty, caramel aroma. Very heavy carbonation. Cola, caramel, chocolate, cinnamon, cocoa flavor. There’s a touch of spiciness but not much. At first I wasn’t a big fan, but as it warmed up it kind of grew on me. Carbonation is fucked up regardless.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 lawman357 (93) - Missouri, USA - FEB 16, 2013
Pretty weak outing from Mother’s. Not disappointing but the cocoa, spice and heat could have been amplified a scoche. The brown ale style was also somewhat weak.

12oz Bottle A - Pours dark caramel with small off white head that dissipates quickly. S - Sutle cinnamon at best. T - Some malt, faint cinnamon, mild pepper. M - Light bodied, good carbonation, bland pepper finish. O - Drinkable, but won’t remember this one.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 csbosox (1204) - Prairie Village, Kansas, USA - JAN 13, 2013
Better commercial description: Brown ale with cocoa nibs, cinnamon bark, and dried ancho, pasilla, chipotle and guajillo peppers.
Dark red color with a two fingered, off white head. The cinnamon is very forward, in the aroma, followed by a general earthiness. The cinnamon is the dominant spice and it is nicely paired with the toasty base beer. The peppers are subtle, earthy and give the beer a little lingering heat in the finish. Certainly a tasty beer.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Cuff_Links (35) - - JAN 5, 2013
Bottle (thanks to Pete for the beer). It pours a clear dark brown with a nice brown head. The nose was a hint of peppers, and then cinnamon and dark chocolate. Medium bodied and smooth mouth feel. Taste was of chocolate, cinnamon, some earthiness, the peppers were smooth with no heat in the first beer but then I felt some in beer number two. Light on the alcohol and easy to drink several. I would certainly drink again; website says it is not an year around beer.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 heemer77 (5013) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - DEC 30, 2012
Bottle. Deep brown body with a dense light tan head. The nose is dark chocolate with a hint of chili and cinnamon. There is also some bread. The taste is largely bread dough with just a hint of cocoa. Pretty light tasting with a little bit of almonds. There is also some cinnamon. Fairly bland other than the cinnamon. The spice is cinnamon, not chili.
