COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not quite English. Not quite American. Foggy Notion is a big oleí 100% Ozarks-born barleywine ale. We have taken the heart of our standard issue Foggy Notion and captured it in this limited release bomber. Straight from the sherry barrels to give this full-bodied beauty a fruity, nutty, sweet, rich brown sugar flavor with the faintest hints of oak. Single barrel Foggy Notion is not for the faint of heart. Bottle conditioned so feel free to lay this bottle down for a spell and see how the flavors evolve.

Dark brown, nearly auburn pour. Thin off white head. Incredible nose. Rich molasses, cask, fruit, caramel and a dash of alcohol heat. Really delicious barley wine. Nice sherry notes up front, brown sugar, vanilla, caramel, booze, light oak and buried fruit. Medium to full bodied. Slick. In my opinion, the most sophisticated of the Motherís brews. Terrific.

Sampled at the RBSG14 Grand Tasting - Pours reddish / orange / borwn with an off-white head. The aroma has caramel, candy, wood and ripe berries. It has a full rich body with a low amount of carbonation. The flavor starts with sweet malt that has a syrupy aspect. The finish has caramel and richness. A big tasting barleywine. Nice.

22 oz. bottle via STL trade. Pours a hazed amber color with a small off-white head. Notes of toffee, brown sugar, caramel, leaves, cookies, apples, vanilla, and toast. Some bourbon warmth, but very, very subtle. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, malty mouthfeel. Really big brown sugar and toffee character. The barley wine works very well here and benefits from the subtle barrel aging.

Big thanks to Bob for this bottle! Pours a hazy amber brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a combination of sweet grains and red wine with a bit of caramel underlying. Flavor has a interesting combination of dry red wine, sweet grains and toffee that seem a touch muddled.

2013 Bottle #493. The appearance fuses a chestnutty orange color with a minimal off-white head. The aroma is a nice mixture of booze, raisins, caramel malts, and cherries, and the flavor is just as indulgent due to the heavy sweetness, touch of sourness, and mild level of umami. Furthermore, the palate is extremely complementary to the taste as a result of the oily texture, medium body, soft carbonation, and sweet yet boozy finish.

Pours cloudy brown with thin tan head. Nose is cream, brown sugary, plum and dates, faint smoky oaky finish. Flavor very sweet. Would be cloying but strong alcohol and slight oak astringency cut the sugar. Rounded, slighlty oily mouthfeel. Short finish. Good.

Bomber at a bottle sharing. Pours reddish brown with a small white head. Aroma of sherry, fruit, spice, and vanilla. Taste is sherry, red fruit, vanilla, brown sugar, spice, and some alcohol. Very nice.
