Squashed is a big, bad porter thatís nice and rich for the fall season. Locally harvested butternut squash and pumpkins are chopped and slow roasted with a heavy dose of pie spices. We then pour in enough cocoa nibs to all but guarantee youíll be feeling the love. Finally, Squashed is patiently aged in rum barrels until it takes on all those delicious flavors and is ready for impact.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with a large brown creamy head that dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is spiced rum, cocoa, allspice, nutmeg. Flavor is medium sweet, spices, cocoa, ash. Full body, creamy mouthfeel, a bit of astringency. Pretty over the top on the spices, but not bad.

It poured a dark brown color with a light tan head. The aroma was lots of chocolate, pumpkin, some cinnamon and a hint of vanilla. The taste was similar with a big roasted note in the backbone. There was a little mild bitterness. Very, very nice.

Bomber at a bottle sharing. Pours almost black with a nice tan head. Aroma of chocolate, malt, pumpkin, and spice. Taste is similar. Didnít pick up much squash at all. Surprised at how well this works. Nice.

Pours a very dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is chocolate and pumpkin. Some spices. Flavor follows and is very chocolaty. I don't like many pumpkiny beers but this one works. Medium to full bodied and slightly sweet. Nice beer.

Pours deep brown with a medium light brown head with good legs. Nose is chocolate, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, vanilla. There is a charcoal roasted note. Mouthfeel is smooth, creamy. Sweet. Mild bitterness. This is seriously good.

Pours an almost opaque black with a tan head. Aroma of actual pumpkin, nutmeg and molasses. Taste is the same with the pumpkin, nutmeg and molasses with some earthiness and cocoa but not really any chocolate. Had a bit of vegetal sharpness to it but no real bitterness. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavors didnít work well together for my taste. Had on tap at the Bier Station

The color is an opaque black color with a large tan head, and the aroma blends chocolate, caramel malts, pumpkin, and nutmeg. The taste is very nice due to the blend of mild umami, slight sourness, and a mild sweetness, and the palate combines a soft carbonation, oily texture, full body, and a finish that is chocolately and slightly boozy.

Bottle 302 from our hometown Motherís brewhouse. Black pour with nice mocha head. Lots of squash in the nose with subtle chocolate hints. Big fall spice up front melts into earthy pumpkin wrapped in thin chocolate crust. Great flavor....no imitation pumpkin in this one. Not overly sweet, nice cask on the the backend. Overall a great seasonal.
