3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottle to lager glass. Amber with small tan head that laces nicely. A little touch of coffee, with chocolate and malty aromas. Somewhat thin in the mouth, but taste is a balanced sweet with a subtle bitter finish. Leaves a nice aftertaste too. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised, a good beer from the land of the fundamentalists.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle sampled at the Side Project release bottle share. Pours a rich amber color with a small beige head. Notes of earth, nuts, faint caramel- not much sweetness at all here. It also has little toastiness for a brown ale, leaning more earthy. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a dry mouthfeel. Good brown ale.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Caramel and malt to the aroma. The taste starts off with some malty notes, with the middle having a bit of caramel and finishes with a dry, dark chocolatey bite. Very solid. 5.5% alcohol.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle served in a SN IPA glass
A - Pours a clear mahogany brown with a tight knit tan head. Nice rings of lacing with good retention.
S - Brown bread crust, yeasty, brown sugar, nutty, hints of oxidation, faint herbal hops.
T - Grassy hops are the first thing I notice which were not very present in the nose. Charred/toasted brown bread, some toasted toffee, roasted grainy barley. The cocoa-like bitterness is peppery and rounds out the toast notes well. Finishes bitter and roasted.
M - Moderate creamy carbonation, smooth feel, medium body.
Nice take on the style. Hop forward with a strong toast character.
