Bottle in Vail courtesy of jcnielsen. Thanks bro! Pours a deep brown appearance with a dark brown head. Roasty coffee, earthy, chocolate, toasted aroma. Creamy dark chocolate, somewhat herbal/earthy, toasted coffee flavor. Pretty good but not excellent.

Dark brown pour with a tan head. The aroma has some strong coffee and chocolate notes. The flavor is full of coffee, cream, chocolate and roasted malt. Very nice overall. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Good coffee beer.

Bottle, thanks to my brother. Black body with a light brown head. Nice roasted coffee with some dark chocolate. A little bit of stone fruit. The taste has some cherries and a little bit of coffee. There is also a little bit of dark chocolate. Smooth and well done.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. Shep brought it. Almost no red in the black. A thin but active tan head. Coffee and ashtray nose. That is the flavor, too. A thin feel. Some distant dark fruit and chocolate. Some fruity hops in the finish. Not a great stout.

Pours a deep almost black with hints of amber when held to light. Bubbly deep tan head that didnít want to stick around. Aroma of freshly ground coffee, caramel, milk chocolate, toasted nuts and light roast. Flavor of milk chocolate, coffee milkshake, vanilla, roasted nuts and caramel. Well done coffee stout.

Bottle. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma of super fresh roasted coffee beans, roasted nuts (peanut butter), and vanilla. But wow, that aroma is fresh! Probably the best aroma of any coffee beer Iíve had to date (or at least tied). Flavor is quite similar, lots of roasted coffee that finishes with more charred roasted coffee notes. Plenty of roasted nuts, espresso, chocolate, and vanilla as well. Delicious coffee beer and itís really fresh too. Wow, you just canít get much better than this! The aroma is the best part, but the flavor is awesome too. What a great beer from such a sleeper brewery! 10/4/9/4/18 (4.5/5)

12 oz bottle at Pig and Finch in Leawood, Kansas. The pour is black, slight hint of brownish ruby, with a one inch khaki head. Pretty in the glass. The aroma is fresh coffee, light bitterness, along with a sweet milk caramel malt element. The taste is very similar to iced coffee, roast soft bitter of coffee, along with the sweetness of the caramel malt. The soft milkiness carries the finish. The palate is medium bodied, active carbonation and pleasant roast bitter finish. Very well done coffee beer, I enjoyed this, and I generally do not care for coffee beers.

12oz. bottle. Hugely roasty, coffeeish aroma, whatever blend they chose is extremely dark and aromatic, with a faint hint of dark chocolate and cocoa, a tad of cream and sugary sweetness, but the espresso/coffee notes just dominate utterly. Brown-black in color with dark brown highlights and a thin, fading head. Flavor profile is hugely coffeeish as well, more of that supremely dark roast accented by a touch of dark, milky sweetness, roasty, black malts and lingering bitterness. This is a true coffee beer, in the sense that the coffee comes first, then the beer. Typically this is more of a complaint, but the coffee (espresso) they used in this is just so tasty that it totally works. Not overly dry and ashy like some other coffee stouts I have tried. Somewhat thin and effervescent on the palate, with a light-medium body. Very much like some sort of fancy iced coffee beverage, to the point where I can feel the effects of the caffeine in this stuff. Not something to have late at night, as a result.
