jtw (909), farmington, Michigan, USA Mar 1, 2008 12 oz bottle - fruity and lemony aroma of hops from an amber liquid with a moderate whitish foam. resiny and a bit hoppy but certainly not a hops-bomb. not dry and not sweet, but medium bodied which masks the relatively high 7.2% well. probably the same "house" yeast as ghettoblaster, which results in very neutral flavors keeping the malt and yeast from becoming anything outstanding. certainly not a bad beer, and since i wasn’t sure what to expect, it was a nice surprise.
Hudspart (307), Hudsonville, Michigan, USA Feb 16, 2008 Bottle: Avery IPA in every way. Very light in fact of an IPA. Almost no aroma and nothing to look at. Drinkable though. Silphium (2006), Lansing, Michigan, USA Dec 31, 2007 Bottle. Clear amber-orange body, thin off-white/buff head. Light cerealy nose with light citrus and pine. The body reminded me of Ghettoblaster with its backbone of dry, slightly nutty, cerealy malt, but this time with bitter piney hops. Watery and bland. Simply too thin.
