This accessibly great tasting beer, patterned after the English Mild style, is the lightest of the Motor City line up. But donít let the adjectives throw you, its deliciously flavorful. The label was designed by Artist Glen Barr and there is rock CDs to go along with the beer.

Bottle. Lactic chocolate malt and hay aroma. Medium brown with small head. Lightly sweet chocolate with very light malt flavor. Watery body. Not much here - at least there are no off tastes.

Tap @ Motor City Brewing: Burnt copper-y color, a little bit of haze with a decent sized khaki foam. Somewhat timid, bland aroma. Earthy malt, toasted grains, nuts, a touch of floral hops. Maybe a little citrus, but very faint. Some metallic toffee. Taste is more on the side of the caramel, nutty, & toffee-ish malts with a light copper tasting undertone. Hints of earth, cardboard, & floral hops. Thin, abrupt finish. While their beer is pretty mediocre, their pizza is awesome - I recommend the Godfather (pesto sauce, goat cheese, roasted red peppers, & roasted garlic).

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottles on 9/11/2013. Gusher upon opening, very high carbonation. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy orange amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a ton of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of toast, brown bread, light caramel, golden raisin, pear, apple, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with well balanced bready malt, earthy hop, and fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of toast, brown bread, light caramel, golden raisin, pear, apple, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, brown bread, light nuttiness, plum, pear, apple, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice balance of bready malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop flavors; with solid robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. I let the carbonation dissipate in the glass. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish as expected of 4.2%. Overall this is a nice mild ale. Well balanced bready malt, earthy hop, and fruity yeast flavors with solid robustness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

bottle. I bought it because of the name. Amber with small head. Flavor-wise, this is just a mess of off-flavors with metal and nuts. Not good.

Tasted from a 12oz. bottle. It poured a clear deep amber to copper hue with an extremely bubbly white head. No really, this sucker bubbled over like I had been shaking the bottle. Then a gentle pour still produced a glass that had mostly head. It had a musty malt aroma and a bitter spiced taste.

My favorite micro beer in Michigan. This beer is as close to perfect as beer can be.

12 oz bottle at a tasting on January 13. This thing is something else. I definitely wasnít too much of a fan, but here goes. The pour is a pretty dark brown, with not much light passage and a small dark tan head. There isnít much lace. The aroma has a lot of toasted male, and a light fruit, with maybe a little nuttiness to it. The flavor is quite similar, with maybe a little toffee bit in there. The mouth feel is really thin, and Iím not feeling the off aftertaste. Iím glad this was my only one of these

Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Brown brew with white head. Aroma of mild sweet malt, caramel, tart fruit, old socks. Taste is mildly sweet malts at the start followed by a mish mash of tart fruit and a strong nut flavor. The nuttiness was quite good but it was lost in the fruit and sweet and funk. Finish is jsut rather bland. Not good.
