I got it for the interesting name style and the fact that it wasn’t too expensive. Turns out its a solid beer, and tastes great. Looks more red than amber, but had some solid flavors. Caramel and a bit of honey are quite obvious in terms of taste, might have a bit of citrus and chocolate. After taste was good. I was shocked that it was only 5% ABV... it feels stronger. I would recommend it.

Sweet malts and a little spice on the nose. Very sweet tasting, like drinking caramel, but it works very well. More of a pleasing bitterness than I expected from a 3.8 per cent beer.

12 oz. can. Poured dark amber with an off-white head that lingered a while. Spotty lacing. Nose is straight grain and malt. Taste is sweet and bready, heavy on the malt side. Not bad beer.

Mild ales, much like their taco Bell sauce counterparts, are not very exciting... I got this beer because of the name and the.... I don’t know... V8 spaceship boom box on the tap handle. Go marketing team for making me sit through this mediocre masterpiece of a beer.

12oz bottle from Canals Rio Grande. Poured a murky orange-brown with a smaller foamy light beige head. Aroma of nuts, biscuit, light chocolate, earth. Fizzy carbonation and a watery mouthfeel. Flavor is nuts, toast crusts, light chocolate, tea leaves, old raisin bread dough. Meh, could of sworn I rated this before but the ratebeer database seems to disagree.

On tap, poured into a shaker. The aromas are a mellow and muted with tones of toffee, grains and biscuits, with undertones of chocolate and nuts. The beer is a rich, hazy, dark caramel color with a soapy, gelatin tan head that only retains a light amount and leave a touch of lace. The taste is a medium bittersweet, that’s not quite balanced. It’s a slick, oily beer with a fuzzy, zippy carbonationa and a medium light body with flavors of grain and dry caramel malt that finishes with a zip of spice and tastes of biscuit and minerals. It leaves an aftertaste of light grain, roasted nuts, and bitter wax.
