More black than anything. Almost opaque. Aroma is a bit metallic. Flavor is dirty like the ghettoblaster. Light body. Miss.

Pour on tap at the brewery, dark brownish pour with off tan head, aroma brought notes of nuts, roast, ash, caramel, toffee, some very slight hints of cocoa. Taste is a mix of roast, coffee, over done coffee beans into some hints of toffee, cocoa, touch of spicy yeast, finishing roasted, ashy, dry.

bottle. Brown with small head. Somewhat below average brown ale. Malty and bland with a little bit of off flavoring.

Surprisingly complex beer. Lots of roasted nut flavors mixed with sweet caramel, yeast, cocoa, faint clove and brown sugar. A bit too sour for my liking, but it offers a unique twist. Medium bodied and darker than expected.

Clear burnt Amber color with almost no lacing. Minimal coffee aroma. Smooth coffee mouthfeel. A decent brown.

Nice, roasty aroma with shades of chocolate. Small head that dissolved quickly. Full bodied and overall quite tasty. I believe this beverage rates out the best here at RateBeer among all Motor City offerings. After sipping three other beers that were all average (or less), I would agree this is definitely the one to try when visiting the pub.

Copper with a rather large meringue looking topper. Aroma is grainy and malty with some roasted character, a hint of fruit and some nuts. Taste is a bit awkward. Heavy roasted character with a fruity off-like flavor. Not terribly sweet or full in body but drinkable enough. A bit of nuts and caramel to go with a spicy & peppery finish.

Tessic (906) - Brantford, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 17, 2010
This brown ale poured a very deep brownish red colour with a nice big brown coloured, foamy head. To the nose there are scents of vinegar, roasted malt, nuts, caramel and cocoa. First sip was a tiny bit over-carbonated but not to the annoying level. This gave the beer a slightly thin mouthfeel. Flavours of roasted malts, nuts and smoke were in the forefront. Finish was smokey and roasty.

huge head, cloudy brown... thin, sourish, crap. i can’t find a nut anywhere in this beer.. i think if michelob made a nut brown ale it would taste better than this.. i didn’t dump it out, but i thought about it.

12 oz bottle. Pours brown with little head. Aroma is pretty much just roasted coffee. Flavor is a typical brown ale, with roasted coffee and earthiness. Okay.
