aspidites (1268), manteca, California, USA Nov 28, 2007 Floral and herbal nose with mild dms. Malt forward with soft bittering and mild white fruit on the palate. Clean finish. Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Feb 8, 2006 Draught at the brewpub Bright copper colour. Not as much aroma as one might hope - a bit woody and that’s it. The body is a mix of syrupy, resiny and watery textures. The hops are a bit sticky but remain muted. The only statement this beer makes is to not make a statement. Ale_Drinker (1073), Sunnyvale, California, USA Aug 15, 2004 This was a nice IPA. Poured with a thick off white frothy head. My mouth watered just looking at it. Took a nice whiff and it was exactly what I was expecting- nice hoppy floral aroma with notes of pine. Malty body, goes down nice and smooth. This was a great drink. jazz88 (2206), San Francisco, California, USA Jul 28, 2003 Tap @ Reno Festival. Dark amber color with a tan head. Blanced malt and grassy hop aroma. A little sweet on the palate. beerguy101 (3488), Newark, California, USA Oct 11, 2002 Batch #3. Copper color, medium head. A full-bodied IPA. Very hoppy but with a mellow malt undertone. Very hoppy on the first sip, but mellows noticeably with time. This is a big, expansive IPA. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is malty and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter. There is a slight alcohol bite, despite a 6.8%. Some bottle aging could really make this beer exceptional. Winner Gold medal at 2001 World Beer Championship.
