Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Feb 8, 2006 Draught at the brewpub Dark amber colour. Big sugary-fruity and slighly chewy malty aroma. The flavour is of brown sugar and light bubblegum, with indistinct fruitiness. Somewhat sticky palate. Doesn’t show much alcohol, even in the finish. Lubiere (3324), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jan 14, 2006 Reddish amber ale with a thin white head. Yummy orange caramel in aroma, good hops, vinous character, and warming alcohol. In mouth, a more restrained BW with rich malt, not too sweet, nutty notes, and very sharp hops. Rather short in mouth, no alcohol notes. Russian River Beer Revival & Barbecue Cook-Off, August 20, 2005. jazz88 (2206), San Francisco, California, USA Jun 19, 2005 Tap @ 2004 Toronado Barley Wine Festival. Dark amber color. Strong alcohol aroma. Sweet flavors and aroma but not as robust as many of the barley wines. A strong bitter hope bite at the finish.
