Bottle. Pours deep cloudy orange with big big off white head. Aromas of wheat, grain, lemon, lightly toasted malts. Medium body, big hoppy passionfruit, citrus, floral hop character over a light caramel toffee body. Finishes lightly sour, generous bitterness, smooth creamy chewy finish

Very strong fruity aroma and flavours, a bit fizzy. Not really my cup of tea, an interesting beer.

1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
A confusing medley of looks, aroma and taste this one turned out to be. Produces up a muddy and opaque pale brown with a very messy drab of wash atop. Fresh, bright hop nose off-set by a touch of lactic acid and sour cream - rather subtle and simple but not at all alluring. Sour and lactic on the palate with a harsh, weedy bitterness that is lasting. Very light bodied and effervescent. Tart, acidic malt with a grape-skin astringency that gets the tongue to twist. A touch of tooth-pick, a touch of lemon peel and band-aid phenols. In no way a wheat Bock at least. Not good at all. To be fair I’ll need another bottle! (64cL, BB 29/04/14, Dan Murphy’s Currambine)

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dull, cloudy golden brown with a finger or so of fine, off white head that’s punctuated with larger bubbles.
Nose is fairly hoppy, with some grapefruit, lemon and tropical pineapple, but also some hefeweizen-like banana and bubblegum.
The taste is a really lovely blend of hops and esters. The attack is lashings of banana candy, some pineapple fruitiness and a bit of citrus. This is followed by more banana and some citrus on the mid palate and the finish is quite resinous and bitter, with a lingering sweet banana flavour and just a hint of toast.
Really interesting and different.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Big fluffy white head on a hazy golden amber beer.
Malty and hoppy! Floral, citrusy and spicy, smells like a crisp IPA. Slight hints of funky wheat and cloves, the only hints if its German name.
The flavour shows it's weizen background, spicy cloves, estery, banana bread and toasty malts. The big hops, give a bit of a citrus tang, which follow to a nice bitter finish, slicing through the bready malts.
Crisp and slightly bitter to the finish, definitely can see both breweries key touches in this one.

640ml bottle from Swanbourne Cellars. Represents the amalgamation of the three styles/breweries pretty well. Volatile beer with thick white head. Lots of Wheat, banana and clove. interesting flavour profile with classic wheat characters, bocky crispness and a hoppy dry finish. Congrats Baron Louis Hopweizenbock

From a 640ml bottle on 25/8/2013 (shared by Butz with thanks) Pours a murky light amber with a smallish head. Wheat like and yeast notes dominate the aroma, with a fairly strong hint of banana and clove present. Flavour wise, does what it sets out to do, with some distinct hoppiness complementing a pleasant hefe. Has a quite a full body and modest carbonation. An unusual brew and very well integrated.
