COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Rye IPA that we brewed for the Australian National Homebrewers Conference and it uses our IPA recipe with 20% rye malt thrown in. We went into brewing this beer with our eyes closed, which resulted in a 5 hour run-off (normal is 2 hours) and culminated in us nearly putting the whole brew down the drain. From a seemingly ugly duckling has emerged a beautiful swan. The rye malt had added a smoothness and roundness to the palate while all the usual IPA goodness remains- bitter, hoppy, malty. Good.

Bottle. Pours a slightly brown dark golden amber with off white head. Spicey aromas with some sweet caramel and tropical fruit hop aromas. Nice. Flavours are dominated by a decent whack of hops on the finish. Slightly spicey and not overly sweet. Decent enough beer.

Bottle. Pours with a huge off-white head and a hazy red-amber body. Aroma-taste of pine, passionfruit and citrus with a biscuity, spicy body and a bitter finish. Medium bodied.

Tried on tap at Mt Goat. Quite enjoyed this drop. Light amber body with almost lasting head. Some malts on the aroma, caramel crystal and rye. Citrus and other hoppy notes in the taste with good bitterness. Very moreish.

Tap at the Mountain Goat Brewery in Richmond, Melbourne. Pours a hazy orange with a thin, white head leaving okay lace. Nose is fresh citrus, aromatic hops, sweet orange. Taste is fruit punch, sweet juice box, some cardboardy bitterness, a bit ashy. Prickly, bitter palate.
