The Steam Ale is a crisp, certified organic ale. We incorporate a slap of wheat malt in the grist make-up and ferment it cool. We use Cascade and Citra hops to give it a fresh, zippy finish. Great as the weather warms up.

Lighter flavour, fruit citrous, slight bitterness. Ok beer. Not as good as the other mountain goats but would work well on a hot day.

UPDATED: JUL 30, 2013 Pours cloudy golden in colour. Very sweet, but balanced well with hops. Citrus is the primary flavour. Could drink many and still be satisfied.

Bottle. Hazy yellow with a medium sized white head. Citrus, light grain, grass. Light body, watery texture, spritzy carbonation leaving a almost tasteless finish. Light/medium sweet and bitter. Refreshing and easy to drink, but also a bit boring.

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. Pale golden, light blurry in the glass and it has a nice medium sized white top. Not any extreme activities going on on the aroma, but itís light fruity, some hay tones, a little bit of berries and traces of thin watered down lemonade. Itís about average on the carbonation and thin oily on the mouthfeel. Really easy to drink this. Only watery hints of grapefruit and melon. I actually like it for what it is. A non extreme steam beer. 03.05.2013

Tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Pours clear yellow with a pure, white foam head. Looks great. Dry pale malt nose, light dough. Light sweet flavor with white bread, pale malts, light straw. Light bodied with average carbonation. Very clean finish with straw, pale dry dough. Lovely. Easy drinker. Quite refreshing amid all the high ABV stuff at the fest.

From 330 ml bottle. Pours a clear yellow-gold with a thin but lasting white head. The nose is very light, but I pick up some grass, lemon and honey. The taste is very fruity, with fresh white grape dominating and a bit of passionfruit coming through. Minimal bitterness. Crisp, clean finish and a light bodied. Pretty simple, but refreshing.

Tap @ CBC 2013. The pourís gold with a tiny white head. The aromaís light honey and soft citrus fruits. Simple. The taste is light bready angel food cake. Lemon zest. Light finish. Soft and easy to drink. Simple but refreshing. I thought this was the best thing Mountain Goat had at the festival.

Appearance: Slightly hazy yellow with a thick white head. Lots of carbonation bubbles, but the head doesnít lasts for much time, and not much lacing down the glass. Aroma: A nice collection of hops, sweet malt, tropical fruit and slight citrus. Taste: Crisp light malt with some bitterness. A little grassy, and quite ícleaní compared to what the aroma hints at. Mouthfeel: Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Fairly dry to the finish, with a very slight astringency. Overall: A very easy to drink beer, but nothing special. IMHO, it could probably do with either a tad more flavour hops or a bit more sweetness to balance the astringency.
