COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Surefoot Stout is back for 2010 and is a robust, malt-driven ale combining four Australian and imported malts plus flaked barley for a rich mouthfeel. This is a sweet stout, not the traditional dry, Irish stout we all know. We use English East Kent Goldings hops to balance the burnt roasty malt characters. Overall, it’s chocolately, espresso – but rich and full, 5% alc/vol. If you’re lucky, you may even catch Stout in Randy with coffee beans – beer and coffee – what’s not to love?

Dark tar colour with a thin biege head that dissipates quickly. Strong roasted aroma. Surprisingly creamy texture, with an oaky roasted caramel taste.

Easy drinking. Very clean and smooth. Not over powering in anyway. Well balanced. Dark chocolate and licorice. Nice off white head. Very seasonable stout.

Draught (at the brewery bar). Great stout, smooth and dry with a good level of hopping. Would have been happy drinking this all night.

Bottle. Pours very deep brown, small stable tan head. Smells of caramel and coffee with some burnt malt notes. A bit too carbonated (which is very unusual for this brewer - they do have some bottle variation). Taste is initially sweet, then there is mild but lingering bitterness. There’s dried fruit, chocolate and salty flavours with roastiness sitting in the background.

Bottle 330ml. Great stout, aromatic and bitter. Aromas of liquorice, coffee, and burnt caramel. Taste has a sweet start, with long-lasting bitterness at the end. Creamy palate, medium-to-full body. Black colour, and a frothy off-white head.

Draught Pump. Poured lovely deep colour with a creamy tan head. Quite a soft coffee and licourice aroma which follows through on the palate. Medium bodied in style, quite creamy, but enjoyable to be sure.

Bottle. Jet black, with nice brown head. Nice roasty malt flavour, with a good crystal malt to lift the overall maltiness of the stout... Good bitterness & roastiness. Great for a cold day... or night!

330ml bottle. Thick and syrupy with a a volcanic head of thick tan foam, 10% beer 90% foam when poured. Flavour of burnt malt with a strong aroma of coffe and chocolate. Super lively in the mouth with extreme carbonation and a burnt toffee flavour that lasts.
