Botttled, regular
Hairy Goat is a copper coloured English style India Pale Ale with a strong grapefruit, passion fruit and peach aroma coupled with a well balanced hop and malt flavour. It has a medium to high level of bitterness and has been crafted for the connoisseur of full flavoured hoppy beers.
Enjoy as an aperitif as the bitterness will stimulate the appetite. Great with Thai, Indian or any boldly spiced dishes. Enhances flavours of Duck, Goose, Horse, Moose & Bear. Works well with strong flavoured cheeses such as Colby, Blue, Parmesan & mature Cheddar. Also washes down the flavours of gone off cheeses.
Malt: Maris Otter, Munich, Crystal, Wheat
Hops: Chinook and Wilamette

Pours cloudy copper. Head doesnít last. No lacing. Aroma is fruity. Big malt flavour, with some bitterness. Good body on this. Finish is too short. Not bad, but a bit too plain.

Amber, clear, thin bubbly white head
Aroma of sweet pale caramel malts, touch of sweet honey, not that hoppy, mainly sweet malts, slightly buttery
Taste of caramel malts, some citrus hops, citrus zest, getting a slight buttery note and the fruits are a bit non-descript, more hoppy than the aroma, mainly fairly malty but overall quite good
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, bit oily, quite sweet, some bitter zest. Finish as main flavour, some zest, sweet malts, ok getting a bit of spicy hop in the finish
Overall - Not a bad beer, but Iím not sure what itís trying to be - maybe Iíll pick up a bottle and compare

Interesting beer. Not quite sure I would have labeled it an IPA however, more of an ESB flavor to it. Color is tremendous though, unfiltered orangey brown color, very inviting. Nose is bready malts, some wheat, maybe dark tea too. Taste is initially very tea-like with a little piney apricot hop notes. Beautiful finish. Nice one.

Very hazy mid amber with fluffy offwhite head, pineapple sherbet and mango rind but also a strange gravelly minerality. Medium body, mango, fairly sweet at first but plenty of pithy bitterness to balance. Certainly one to try fresh and an indication of things to come.

Draught at Dingle Food Festival. Pours a dark amber with a thin white head. Very bright aroma, with a lot of tropical fruits, floral notes, vanilla and piney resin. Taste is a subtle maltiness to balance the strong hop flavour. Very nice and flavoursome. Refreshing on the palate, with a good lively carbonation and a medium to full body and bitter finish. After being so disappointed with the Green Bullet, I was delighted with this - a really good Irish IPA, amongst the better ones so far.

Draught. Murky orange with a thin head. Light bready aroma. Flavour is musky hop, sweet caramel malt on a dusty dry finish.

330ml bottle from Drinkstore. A nice bright, opaque copper-amber, not much head, what there is doesnt last. Doesnt look the best. Sweet malt notes, peach in the aroma, a little table sugar too. Very sweet flavour up front, some caramel-esque notes, followed by a long, pithy, resiny bitterness. Mouthfeel is very oily, fizzy carbonation. Sweet, sugary malt and oily bitterness in the finish dont make for a great combo.

Keg at ICBCF. Hazy copper. Aroma gives caramel, woody notes, earthy herbaceousness, pine and a bit of citrus. Taste is fairly herbal, with earthy undertones and a bit of citrus. Plenty of woody and caramel notes. Bitterness is a bit rough, Lingering deep herbal and caramel. Not bad, lots of oomph for 4.5%, but could still do with refining - more promising than Green Bullet.
