badlizard (2324), Berkeley, California, USA Jun 28, 2009 Tasted at the San Diego International Beer Festival. Another winner in my book. Golden color with a less sweet aroma and taste than their other meads. Alcohol (at 13+% according to the label) and dry spice flavors dominate. Yum. roder60 (1019), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 27, 2008 Pours clear gold with no head or carbonation. Aroma smells a lot like white wine - flowery, pepper, citric, and grapes. Flavor a bit tart apple and grape. Nice, more tart mead. JB175 (1654), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 21, 2008 Golden color wit decent legs. Aroma has some nice wildflower honey, apple, and agave-desert scents. Flavor has a nice OB/wildflower honey tang with some floral and light fruit notes. Nice mouthfeel that surprises. Not fantastic, but pretty good for a semi-dry mead. Went very well with chicken! ChainGangGuy (2522), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Oct 22, 2007 Appearance: Pours out a clear, still burnished gold body. Nice legs!
Smell: Clear-cut agave aspect with distinct cidery notes and only a very subtle honey scent.
Taste: Smooth agave flavor along the lines of a finer reposado. Very minimal sweetness. Any honey flavor remains subtle. Again, there are those notes of apple cider. Sharp, though manageable alcohol bite. More mellow, smoked spice agave flavor on the exceptionally dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Still, medium body.
Drinkability: Certainly different, but I’ve come to the reality that I prefer sweet meads. Still, it would be fun to try and work into a margarita. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 30, 2007 Updated: Oct 21, 2007Date: 09/30/2007

CaptainCougar (5374), Rockville, Maryland, USA Sep 29, 2007 Pours a clear dark golden bronze with decent legs. Aroma of complex sweet honey and some floral notes. Body starts a little thin, and has a good honey sweetness, drying towad a slightly more bitter agave finish. A fairly interesting and drinkable mead. aracauna (2357), Georgia, USA Sep 29, 2007 This is fruitier than most meads I’ve had. It’s really quite a fine mead, except for the fact that it’s way too sweet for semi-dry. I would say sweet, but I think of Sweet Melissa and Apis Jadwiga when I think sweet and this is not that rich. There is that hint of agave (at least I’m assuming it’s agave because it’s the fruitiness from pulque I had once. It’s far from the snot-like consistency of pulque, though, and that’s a good thing. AgentSteve (1334), SF Bay Area, California, USA Sep 3, 2007 My first mead, pours like the color of apple juice. Nose of honey and wine. Flavor is like wine made from honey! Clean, dry, and an altogether nice experience. Expensive, though, so I will only have fromn time to time. Unfortunately, my wife, (whom I bought it for) didn’t like it.
