blackmurder (164), sadf, Hawaii, USA May 11, 2008 A pretty decent mead. Not one for first timers though. As with all meads this one has it’s place. This is great for kicking back in the sun if it’s ice cold. It goes good with European food. Overall a slightly above average mead.
JB175 (1319), Holland, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 6, 2007 Pale golden color. Aroma is dominated by grape and some earthy undertones. Flavor starts with some grape, light honey sweetness, plus some floral/earthy tastes. Slightly sticky mouthfeel. Not bad, but too dry with a somewhat odd aftertaste. Should not be called semisweet in my opinion. harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Jan 10, 2006 I agree with some of the other reviews. This had some really bland almost plastic notes. Syrupy and very fragrant, with some salt water taffy, and I definitely get some lighter frtui flavors in here as well. Not my favorite but decent. JoeMcPhee (3671), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Dec 6, 2004 Portland Holiday Ale Festival 2004. Yeasty aroma, light floral and fruity notes. Bubble gum as well. Quite dry, bubble gum flavour, floowers. Very pale pinot blanc colour. DA (2376), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA May 31, 2004 Although im very new to mead, this one is not very impressive. Looks fairly light with a decent lacing on the glass. Slightly sweet aroma, and some other aroma that i can’t quite place, maybe almost citrusy hint. Taste is fairly sour with a slight pear and grape taste in the beginning. Goes down smooth leaving a slightly sour aftertaste.
