Dark amber/copper. Boozy aroma with big notes of bourbon and sugar cane, oak, and dark un-tart and un-sweet cherry. Very heavy boozy tones with a load of oak and bourbon, candi sugar and plum and dark cherry. Really hot and woody.

At Mtn Sun. Pours a brown-red with minimal head and lacing. Aroma is predominantly bourbon, with tones of oak and alcohol. Flavor is sweet up front fading immediately into strong bourbon flavors. Finishes oaky and slightly bitter with noticeable alcohol. Soft carbonation, medium-heavy body, smooth texture and a warm finish. Usually I am not a huge fan of Bourbon barrel-aged beers but I really enjoyed this one. A strong, tasty, bourbon filled beer.

First impression: smells like model glue. Nice purple light body. Thin skin of a grey head. Once i dig in to this i pick out more from the nose. Definite bourbon barrel and strong booze scent. Straight forward smoke and wood. Booze flavors come in later and bourbon rises as this warms. It is too much barrel for me. Wood lingers and dominates. Dark fruit notes are muted. Some pine and date flavor but overall just a lot of wood. The taste that lingers is how a wood shop smells. This just ainít for me.

had this on draft last night and thought it was phenomenal. Iím always a sucker for bourbon-barrel beers but this one was particularly nice. Poured red hued brown with sliver of grey head. Aroma of sugary oak, with a slight tart, almost red wine like quality. Full bodied, slightly syrupy. Flavor has red fruit notes, sweet oak on the finish, lingering roast, caramel, burnt oak. Hard to stop sipping on it.
