On tap at the Vine Street Pub in Denver, CO. Pours a black body with a finger-width, dense and creamy, dark brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is dry roasts and juicy grapefruit pines with a solid chocolate backing and a few florals. Flavor is juicy grapefruit pines and a solid roast up front with a good amount of chocolate providing a moderate sweetness. A few florals in the middle as the hops remain fairly juicy and the roasts and chocolate keep things balanced. Finishes dry, roasty, and piney, but has a nice juicy citrus and chocolate sweetness. Medium bitterness before leaving a lengthy aftertaste that follows a medium body and a medium-light carbonation. Overall, a solid Black IPA. Well hopped with some juicier citruses, plenty of roasts, and a nice chocolate backing. Good beer.
