COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A rich, creamy ale infused with a generous amount of coffee, the Porter was developed by Mountain Sun brewers weary of drinking Stout for breakfast. The result is an ale where coffee aromas mingle perfectly with a roasted barley, hop finish. A unique treat including as thick a head as you will ever get on a latte.

Sampler at Vine Street. Pours a medium beige head, with minimal lacing....over a clear dark brown (SRM 30) body.....nose is coffee. chocolate, ligth grains....taste is heavy coffee. light chocolate, minimal grain, slight sour finish....mouth feel and carbonation medium. This is a nicely balanced, albeit fairly typical Porter. It is touch heavy on the darkest roasted malts.BJCP 6/3/12/4/7

Tap @ Vine Street Pub, Denver. Pours black with a creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, lots of black roasted coffee, sweet chocolat. Taste is roasted malt, hard rroasted coffee, milk, dark chocolate. Thin body, soft carbonation. Rather onesided with the coffee flavors. 240212

On tap. Pours with a deep brown body (near black) with a small, frothy, off-white head. Aroma shows some coffee, bready malt, earthy, fudge, earthy, soil. Flavors are earthy, coffee, light esters, oreo and a bit of soil. Medium bodied, medium bubbles, perhaps a bit thin.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours deep brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma is very nice, rich roastiness, coffee, dark chocolate, a touch of burnt toast. Flavor also has a great coffee character, really well balanced with the dark chocolate and slightly burnt malt notes. Finishes creamy with a lasting espresso and bitter cocoa. Medium to medium full body and a soft carbonation. Really nicely done

On tap at the Vine Street location. Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, charred malt, and a hint of coffee. Flavor of lots of roast and char, some sweet malt, hint of bitter chocolate, and only a hint of java which was a little disappointing. Still a tasty beer though. 7/4/8/4/14 [3.7/5]

On nitro tap at Mountain Sun, gorgeous creamy black with foamy tan head, just like a latte as the description notes. Aroma is big coffee, some slight sweet chocolate and toffee but mainly big coffee, which I am a big fan of. Taste is like a coffee milkshake but not sweet, with notes of the coffee, chocolate, toffee mixing into a bitter roasted finish, perfectly smooth and creamy on the palate. Very, very tasty and done well, especially on nitro.

On tap at Southern Sun. Opaque blackish with a small beige head. Big coffee taste, somewhere between medium and full bodied. Creamy and mellow, but still has a robust flavor. Pretty solid coffee porter, well balanced and enjoyable.

Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, syrup and caramel. Taste is overwhelmingly coffe, bitter at the finish. Medium body, tasty, but only one will do.

On tap at the Mountain Sun. Black pour, no head. Non-roasty coffee contribution. Sort of bland, no prickle, light hops, from a brand new keg, should be fresh! Medium body and bah, weak coffee in a weak stout.
