COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A rich, creamy ale infused with a generous amount of coffee, the Porter was developed by Mountain Sun brewers weary of drinking Stout for breakfast. The result is an ale where coffee aromas mingle perfectly with a roasted barley, hop finish. A unique treat including as thick a head as you will ever get on a latte.

Pint. A great finishing beer. A heavy, but not overpowering aroma of coffee beans, very smooth, even better on nitro.

On tap @ Southern Sun. Dark mocha colored pour with an incredible creamy latte head that left nothing but a milky coat inside the glass. Aroma of dark roasted coffee, cocoa, and honey. Similar flavor with the coffee really making itself known. Unlike some coffee beers that taste like used grinds, this is fresh and flavorful. Very thick and chewy mouthfeel. Really good.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours deep brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma is very nice, rich roastiness, coffee, dark chocolate, a touch of burnt toast. Flavor also has a great coffee character, really well balanced with the dark chocolate and slightly burnt malt notes. Finishes creamy with a lasting espresso and bitter cocoa. Medium to medium full body and a soft carbonation. Really nicely done

The nose is quite roasty with a bit of coffeeish character. There is a touch of licorice and lots of heavy coffee flavour. No vegetal character at all. Sweet and light cocoa along with a touch of roastiness. Sticky on the finish. Creamy palate that works well. They’ve done a very good job with this coffee beer.

Growler via BBB63. The beer pours to a dark brown/black body with very little head. The aroma is strong oatmeal and coffee. The flavor is rich coffee and oatmeal with tart lactic acid and milk/dark chocolate. The palate is medium bodied, acetic, and tart.

Draft. Deep brown body. Frothy, thick tan head. The aroma is strong with roasted grain, coffee and chocolate. Notes of caramal and a hint of licorice. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture and lively carbonation. Rock solid coffee porter. No one flavor, including the coffee, is overwhelming. Great mouthfeel and easy drinking.
