3fourths (6954) - Straßgiech, Bavaria, GERMANY - APR 16, 2012
UPDATED: OCT 12, 2012 draft pint is a lightly hazed pale gold with a creamy white head. earth / spice / floral notes from the hallertauer and tetnanger combine with soft juicy citrus notes from the cascade. english ale yeast gives it a rustic, dusty, gravelly character. though it’s a little too chalky, and I can see maybe getting sick of that attribute after a few, it’s nicely dry and snappy and the hop character is well-suited. seems to sit somewhere in the venn diagram of english pale ale / e.s.b. / extra pale ale. nicely made and easy to drink.

onceblind (2535) - Denver, Colorado, USA - APR 15, 2012
Clear honey gold with a lasting medium sized rocky white head, that leaves sticky lace. Balanced aroma of citrus hops, light grassiness, a little bit of floral grapefruit, and a subtly sweet caramel undertone. Taste is exceptionally balanced, well rounded, and tasty. Zesty floral and citric hops meld beautifully with some pale maltiness and a big toffee backbone, leading to a toffee filled finish with a whisper of leafy grassy hops. Bitter only on the finish, and not overly so. Balanced and refreshing. Like Sierra Nevada Pale, but a little more assertive and rounded.

Sampler at Vine Street. Pours a thin white head over a dark amber (SRM 10) body.....nose is light cereal, slight hop tones....taste is cereal, light toffee/caramel, light hop bitter finish....mouth feel light of medium, carbonation low. This is a typical APA. It is neither outstanding nor terrible. BJCP 7/4/12/4/6
