myfriendbubba (22), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jan 11, 2007 PP Ale fest, Dark copper, tan head, very oily hop resin, touch of alchohol, fair amount of malt and nice grassy hop aroma. Very crisp clean finish for a 9.6%
arrogantb (34), Denver, Colorado, USA Oct 26, 2008 The Falling Rock had this as part of their barleywine month selections and noted it was a 2005. I wasn’t familiar with this beer so I ordered it. The first thing I thought was ’’this tastes like a double Colorado kind ale’’. It had some barleywine characteristics but I kept wondering if it was a DIPA. I guess according to BA it is. Anyway, the color was a dark orange-brown. The head was white and creamy. The mouth feel was very creamy as well. The taste was hoppy and delicious. Overall, an excellent beer but maybe not a barleywine.

CaptainCougar (4687), Rockville, Maryland, USA Apr 15, 2007 On tap at the 10th Annual San Diego Strong Ale Festival: Pours a hazy copper orange with a nicely-lacing off-white head. Aroma of fresh citrusy lemon and piny hops with a touch of sweet caramel malt. Body starts with good malty sweetness balanced with a fresh, bittering hoppy presence and a crisp, bittersweet piny resiny finish. A good American strong ale. goldtwins (3747), Nesconset, New York, USA Feb 7, 2007 10th Annual SD Strong Ale Fest: Poured a hazy dark amber color with a small off-white head. Some fresh grapefruity notes, not huge but it covers most of the malt. Fruity malt with a citrusy hop middle. Semi-dry moderately bitter finish. Nice warming sensation. LilKem (1169), Marietta, Ohio, USA Feb 5, 2007 i really liked this one. some citrus flavors, lemon, ginger, fresh wet hops, some pine, perfume, and grapefruit. effervescent mouthfeel.
